This may very well be the final straw for me :funny:

What?! This does not sound good to me!:huh:

Alright got it, not even going to attempt to watch season 4 of Legends and Supergirl this fall. Seems to be some kind of curse.

If Iris has powers, apparently that happened in the comics.

Lets hope that is like an alternate timeline or universe thing with Iris.

Looks like this will be a full on Iris ep with Grant on a break.

well seems like the set pic reveal is going almost as well here as it is on twitter. which means not well at all.

I started reading recent comments here from the last page, saw the general reaction, thought 'What could be that bad?', came up with an answer and dismissed it with a chuckle... only to find out it was exactly what I thought.

****.

what has happened to the writing?

have the ratings dropped at all so that maybe writers can understand the displeasure the fans have with the current storylines?

I just don't get why Barry isn't as confident as he should be. He is The Flash. Everyone else depends on him, it shouldnt be the other way around.

Seems like the show is following Arrow's formula.

Season 1- Regarded as the best season by a lot of fans

Season 2- Good but not as great as Season 1. Titular hero gets a minor costume upgrade to look more comic accurate (Arrow with a mask and Flash with a white emblem). Surviving parent is also killed near the end of the season by the main villain (i.e. Moira and Henry).

Season 3- Titular hero's main sidekick received their official costume (Arsenal and Kid Flash).

Season 4- Tituar hero receives a big costume uprade. Main Female lead is overused and becomes a source or irritation for quite a few fans. The main season's big bad and their respective ultimate plans is also uninteresting as well.

So if we continue the trend then hopefully season 5 will revive this show.

And as much as I don't like Iris's role for this season, she is not its only problem. I feel like the ONLY thing that makes Devoe stand out from past villains is that he isn't a speedster.

If Captain Cold had not gone to Legends, then they should have used him and the assembled Rogues as one of the season's main villains with Grodd secretly manipulating their actions from a distance (thus saving money from being constantly used for his CGI appearance).

I would have also had Barry and Iris take a long break from each other and rebuild Iris as her own person who could realistically grow into an authority figure within the group MUCH later down the road when it felt like she earned it.

Well, it did kind of feel this last episode was slapped together because they couldn't get Mark Hamill back again. Other than that, I'm not really sure, but something sure has

FLASH Facts: The Trial Of The Flash Part Two

So what are peoples thoughts on Elastic Man? Iris is accused of taking over the show left and right but there isn't that much said about Ralph who has gotten major focus this season compared to a character whose been around for 4 years.

I've been saying how much I hate Ralph. I was happy when Wally left, so it would give more time to Barry, but little did I know they would focus so heavily on Ralph. I hate him more than Wally.

Get Ralph off, keep Wally out, make Iris' role smaller, focus more on Barry and villains: that's it. I don't know why this is so hard for a show called The Flash?

Barry has gotten a lot more screentime then Iris has but with 23 episodes in a season, in a 4th season focusing more time on another character that isnt overshadowing the main character isnt that bad.

I thought they made the Legends of Tomorrow show to get the side characters they want to focus on. Maybe Ralph will eventually be on that, I don't mind him but I wouldn't miss him when he goes. He will be like Julian a character I never think about once their season is done.

Ralph is doing what he's supposed to do: be a superhero. Iris isn't a superhero, a leader or flash, or a scientist, engineer or cop for that matter. Not sure why that's hard to understand. Time clocked on the show isn't going to make a love interest more relevant. The show's attempts to sideline Barry and bringing on Wally to prop up Iris have never worked, that's why all the complains against her increased screen time. And it doesn't help that she makes everything about her while the team is about stopping the baddies. To be fair, Barry is enabling her on this.

I've enjoyed Ralph, he disturbs the status quo, he's not perfect, he's funny and irreverent, and most important of all, he's not saddled with relationship drama. If they're not going to keep him, then I hope he goes to Legends. He'll be great there, too. While I don't miss Julian, I've enjoyed his prickly interactions with Barry and the team. In the mean time, Iris has become the hollow center of every scene, especially at Star Labs.

This last episode was hands down, the worst episode they have ever had. Across all of the Arrowverse shows.

No excuse for how terrible it was. Can only hope that whoever wrote and directed the episode aren't touching another one ever again.

Season 3- Titular hero's main sidekick received their official costume (Arsenal and Kid Flash).
That's not a formula. It's just a basic plot point for a character.
Season 4- Tituar hero receives a big costume uprade. Main Female lead is overused and becomes a source or irritation for quite a few fans. The main season's big bad and their respective ultimate plans is also uninteresting as well.
Iris has barely been used. She's barely had prominence in the plot. She had character work in the premiere. A side plot in episode 2 that had her help Barry out at the end. Did basically nothing for the next couple episodes. Had a relationship building episode with Caitlin that was about Caitlin. Then did basically nothing for the next couple episodes again, but give Barry advice in Therefore I am. Had a side plot in the crossover that amounted to nothing. Then had more character work in the mid season finale. And now for these past couple episodes has again done basically nothing. Do people not remember s4 of Arrow? Felicity had her own separate story away from the characters, her own supporting cast and her own villains. She practically had her own show within the show, only without a real character arc of any kind. Iris having a story within the group that's kinda forced, with a character arc that's touched on every few episodes is nothing compared to Felicity. And it sounds like Iris won't have much to do with this upcoming episode too.

And I disagree about the uninteresting villain angle too.
And as much as I don't like Iris's role for this season, she is not its only problem. I feel like the ONLY thing that makes Devoe stand out from past villains is that he isn't a speedster.
There's not much for any villain to stand out with. Sure, a group would stand out, but I don't see anything interesting about a group villains going after Barry for 23 episodes just because he stopped them a lot. They could have had the rogues be a tool of the Thinker. But even then the highlight is still the Thinker.

Iris hasn't made everything about herself. Wally wasn't used to prop up Iris. Wally got his own story and arc that was only connected to Iris is the most thin way last season and in season 2 Iris had a part in it, but it was mainly Joe focused. Iris is a leader of the team though (but not Barry, he has made all his own decisions) and she has helped. Iris isn't super, but she is a hero. She's helped save people. HR was the same. He was none of those things though and he was fine.

Ralph's one of the Flash's main buddies in the comics. He was going to show up eventually. Honestly, this version livened things up. Although I wouldn't mind him wandering over to Legends and meeting White Canary:cwink:

theres a rumor going around that the girl writing in speedforce nonsense is barry and iris' daughter lol

I thought that had been the assumption (either daughter or granddaughter) since she first showed up at the wedding?
