It's sad when this use to be my favorite Arrowverse show, now it's near the bottom.

I think they need to get rid of everyone outside of the main 3 from the beginning, Cait, Cisco & Harry. Does Iris have any other goals in life outside of being a team leader & Barry's wife? I remember when she use to work as a journalist and would help when needed. I still don't understand why Barry needs a team of like 8 people telling him what to do and helping him fight crime. It's annoying when they make Star Labs basically a conference room

If you're saying the whole team needs to go, I kinda agree. I would like to have Barry be without a team.

Being a Westallen shipper tends to remove all logic. It's pretty clear who is running/ruining the show. The writers are also afraid of killing/writing Iris off because her crazy fan base will brand them all racists and bully them into submission.

Iris is the most hated and Candice is miscast and can't act. She should be off the show by now as she has no purpose. Being a love interest doesn't count. My investment in the show has decreased just as much as Iris has.

Team Flash (Caitlin, Cisco and Barry) is the heart of the show. They can't be removed because that is what the general public wants to see.

I'm so confused as to why some people hate Iris so much. I happen to really like Iris, and I think Candice is quite good in the role and has obvious likability. I mean, it's not as if there's anything offensive or horrible in her performance. She seems right at home with the rest of the cast. After watching the show for the past several seasons, I enjoyed following Iris just as much as I enjoyed following any of the main cast. I don't understand why she would provoke so much hate.

A better look

Hold the phone. But what the **** is this?

This season has gotten so bad, and this season is all about Iris.

The show was at its best when Barry and Iris were not married.

It's not stupid and insulting for a woman to say that they share the burdens of being the Flash with their husband personally.

:huh::huh::huh::huh:

She doesn't share the burden of BEING the Flash, Barry is the Flash.

If ANYONE has a right to say "we are the Flash", it is Cisco and Caitlyn. Your statement is obnoxiously illogical.

Michelle Obama: We are Barack Obama.

Melania Trump: We are the POTUS.

Prince Phillip: We are the Queen.

Bride: We are the groom.

Locutus: We are the Borg.

:o

It's so lame. Barry is finally FAST. Like, really fast. Flash, cartoonlike speed. Running to China in seconds, moving to fast to see. He finally is displaying Flash like, OP plot device sort of speed.

And it is overshadowed by a weak story, an atrocious love interest who has no place in the show, and a villain who simply isn't even part of the story. Barry vs Davoe with Caitlyn and Cisco in his corner. That's it.

Now, I am an empathic person with a freakish amount of compassion, but I was VERY disappointed when Iris didn't die last season.

Barry cradling a lifeless Iris in his arms last season: Oh no! We are dead!

When Michael Jackson (and friends) had that single "We are the World" he really meant "I am the World." :o

Being a hater and shipper can I think make it so people choose to ignore logic.

And Laurel is the most hated and is miscast and Katie Cassidy can't act and should be off the show by now because she has no purpose.
Team Flash (Caitlin, Cisco and Barry) is the heart of the show. They can't be removed because that is what the general public wants to see.
Team Arrow (Diggle, Felicity and Oliver) is the heart of the show. They can't be removed because that's what the public wants to see.

Bearing the burdens of something doesn't make them that person. I don't think it's a literal statement.

Based on the context of the conversation they were having, I don't think there's any reason to think it means anything other than that. Barry talks about how the weight is up to him to carry it because he's the flash and Iris says that in response.
Hold the phone. But what the **** is this?

This season has gotten so bad, and this season is all about Iris.

The show was at its best when Barry and Iris were not married.
For the past 3 episodes, Iris has talked to Barry and incapacitated Dwarfstar and not much else. She had a story with character in there focus in the first 2 episodes of the season, along with Cisco and Caitlin, then Barry, Cisco and Gypsy. Had 2 episodes where she didn't do much. Girls Night Out happened where she had a story focus, by virtue of being apart of Caitlin's story in that episode. Had 2 episodes where she didn't do much. Kinda had a story focus in the crossover Flash part, but didn't accomplish anything. In the mid-season finale she had a story with character work focus, with Barry and Caitlin. How is this season all about Iris?

Being a hater of the show? Not. Of Iris, Westallen and its rabid, small obnoxiously loud shippers? Yup.

You are the shipper, it's not hard to comprehend. Therefore all logic and common sense has left.

What you see as a metaphor, others see it for what it is: borrowed feathers. While that appeals to you, others find it naturally distasteful. So I guess you will have many more hard laughs to come as Iris continues to get called out for pretending to be something she's obviously not.

It's a simple metaphor about friendship, and in the case of Iris, romantic devotion. It's not mean to be taken literally making it, by definition, a metaphor.

The fact that people are so bothered something so insignificant is entertaining in and of itself. Indeed, if I were a drinking man, I'd toast every time someone said, "We are the Flash", just because I'd know that the laughs wouldn't be over when the show ended.

I have not been able to stand her from day 1 just fells like a pointless annoying character. She is much worse then Lana was on smallville in comparison.

I disagree. I think this season has gone off a goddamn cliff.

I'm going to watch the rest of this season, and I think I'll be done with this show. I'll check in on what people say about S5, but after this, I think I'm done, unless people say it's around S1 quality again.

After season 3 I was close to being done with this show. This year has brought back my love for the show its close to the quality of season 1. Crazy how people can think so different. Season 1 was like a 10/10 season 2 like a 8/10 season 3 like a 6/10 this season so far solid like 9/10.

If I had to rate them: S1-10/10, S2-8/10, S3-7/10, S4-4/10.

I seriously think I've only enjoyed 1 or 2 episodes this season, and those episodes weren't even that good compared to other seasons.

If S1 was B89, S4 is B&R. It's a night and day difference in quality.

They are different. The reason why things suck on the show is because the Westallen fans bully the writers by calling them all racists if they break up Westallen. The shippers control the show, it's the same with Olicity only worse.

I used to like her also. But I think it was wrong for her to morph, in like ONE episode, from reporter/supporting actor into TEAM LEADER. This is where I think the hate comes from. It all seems so forced. That's not even a strong enough word for it. And now we get word that she will be suiting up. Really?....

Forced is a good way to put it. Grant is no longer is the star of his show. It sucks.

If shippers controlled this show, Iris wouldn't have very little to do for as much of the season as she does. There are haters that aren't bullies and there are those that are and there are shippers that aren't bullies and there are those that are. Either way, I don't see a completely positive side. But I think that there are haters that are shippers of something that is opposed by what they hate and that may have something to do with why they hate it.

If anyone's the star now, it's Hartley Sawyer.

He has and always will be the focal point. Even in prison, the writers aren't just letting Barry sit. We got reminders of Barry's past pain with his father in prison and a solid story arc with Big Sir. It's fair to say that Devoe hasn't gotten enough screen time in the last couple of episodes, but this season has been the biggest showcase for Grant's growing skills that we've had to date.
