What we need is another Flashpoint.
He doesn't need a Flashpoint to get rid of that cowl. Just a trip to the costume designers!
What we need is another Flashpoint.
It's already confirmed that the Reverse Flash, Savitar and Zoom are due to appear in the 100th episode, though I'm not sure quite in what sense that'll be, and whether they'll be gunning for each other as well as Barry. It wouldn't surprise me if we saw the Reverse Flash and Savitar in the 100th episode.
I have a feeling that the 100th episode will take place in the speed force. It's already confirmed that the Reverse Flash, Savitar and Zoom are due to appear in the 100th episode, though I'm not sure quite in what sense that'll be, and whether they'll be gunning for each other as well as Barry.
If Savitar is back, then (presumably) it's before his death; I guess the same could be said for all of them on that, but we know that Savitar did run through the timeline a bit. Will he still be making an attempt on Iris, or instead trying to defeat Barry? Not quite sure what Thawne will be doing, short of just causing turmoil in the family.
Zoom is the interesting one, because he's never quite had a personal vendetta against Barry; he's just out for power, so (in theory) he should see both Eobard & Savitar as opposition. I do hope they bring in Matt & Teddy for their respective roles too. I'd rather Tom not take up the RF mantle again.
My husband and I watch The Flash and we’ve noticed that Jesse L. Martin has been sitting down in all of his scenes. Are we crazy or is he injured? –Rachel
No, you are not crazy but perceptive – though this week we did see Joe leaning in a doorway at the CCPD. I’m hearing that Martin suffered a back injury over the hiatus. In fact, a studio rep confirms for TVLine that the actor will be taking a medical leave from the CW hit, adding: “We wish him a full and speedy recovery and look forward to his return as Detective Joe West.” (It’s unclear at this time exactly when and for how long Joe’s absence will be felt on screen, but sources tell me it will be addressed at some point.)
yup, at least he won't just disappearGlad to see them finally say something about Jesse. Hope he has a speedy recovery
Honestly, the more that I think about it, the more that I wish that we had gotten Impulse/Bart Allen instead of Nora.
At least with Impulse, you could justify him having a child-like personality due to how young he is (where he is normally introduced as a teenager when he first cross paths with Barry).
The arc that he had in "Young Justice" Season 2 feels better than what they are trying to go for with Nora, where he came to change an apocalyptic future.
I like Nora and the energy that she brings. She reminds me of Barry from the beginning of Season one which was probably the intent and that she will mature as the season goes on such as resolving her issues with Iris, gaining more experience as a hero or using her powers more competently.
Most of those things could have been applied to Bart as well. The biggest reason why we did not get Bart wad because the producers wanted to give Iris something to do.
They've barely gotten into Wally before they shipped him over to Legends. Most of those things could have been applied to Bart as well. The biggest reason why we did not get Bart was because the producers wanted to give Iris something to do.
It is kind of upsetting that they had to erase the tornado twins and Impulse just so that we could get XS.
As far as I understand the situation, Nora's a kind of adaption of sorts of one of the tornado twins and Bart isn't necessarily erased. Most of those things could have been applied to Bart as well. I think Nora allows for a more direct connection to Barry and allows the show to go back to the s1 newspaper and how that will effect the lives of those Barry cares about. The arc that he had in "Young Justice" Season 2 feels better than what they are trying to go for with Nora, where he came to change an apocalyptic future.

I just don't think that Nora's role on this show justifies essentially erasing the Tornado Twins and Impulse from canon/existence. XS is the persona that Barry Allen's granddaughter (born from Dawn Allen) is supposed to take.
They have basically erased two generation of speedsters due to Nora's existence.
Imho, Bart Allen could have had a meaningful relationship with Barry on this show. Bart trying to live up to the legacy of his grandfather and making his parents proud could have easily worked as well. The only problem is that it would give Iris nothing to relate on.
With Nora being a only child, unless it is revealed that she is also into guys or ends up having an arificial insemination, then the Allen-Flash line dies with her.

I don't think he's necessarily erased. While that may be true, it still does not justify erasing the likes of Impulse from existence.
And the fact that they also deleted Dawn Allen's twin brother from existence also sucks.
I feel like the producers of the show have really squandered the potential the show once had back in Season 1.
We are 5 seasons in and we have yet to have a proper episode/arc dealing with the Rogues (Mirror Master, Grodd, Captain Boomerang, Weather Wizard, Golden Glider, etc.) all joining forces to take on the Flash.
We have yet to see Iris portrayed as a competent reporter who has used her journalism skills to help move the main plot forward
Kid Flash was pretty much a big waste of potential (and it does not help that the actor has a very limited range in acting imho).
And from what i heard, the whole flash ring gimmick was dropped after in one episode.
So adding all of that, plus no Impulse and tornado twins now because they only wanted Barry and Iris to have one child.
While that may be true, it still does not justify erasing the likes of Impulse from existence.

Where do you get the idea that Impulse is erased from existence? How could he be erased from history if he hasn't appeared in the show yet? In fact how could you be certain that he has ever existed in this universe? Don't worry bro, he still exists in the comics lol. Tim Drake hasn't appeared in any of The Dark Knight trilogy but does that mean Nolan erased Tim Drake from existence?
Again it's pure conjecture on your part and Nora appearing doesn't necessarily mean Bart will never appear in the show, we have no idea what the showrunners plans for future seasons are. Arrowverse is its own things and it has never ever followed the comics, in fact Arrow's Oliver is more like Bruce Wayne than the Oliver Queen from the comics.
To be fair Nora hasn't explicitly stated that she's the only child so it is possible that she may have a sibling that we don't know about.
If Nora is a only child, unless she later displays a interest in men later on then the only way that Bart Allen could possibly exist is if she has a artificial insemination (which is a route that I highly doubt that they would take).
