I thought it looked amazing! I hope we spend more time there. It's a cool set. Like Flash's ARGUS

I think part of the problem with both Arrow and The Flash is they introduce the title character's famous soul mate from the beginning with the intention that somewhere down the line they would end up together, but until then they have nothing for them to do so they become dull or irritating. At least Smallville waited for a while to introduce Lois Lane, but then they ruined that too by taking too long for them to get together.

THE FLASH Season 1, Episode 5 Synopsis Released; "Plastique"

KELLY FRYE GUEST STARS AS DC COMICS’ PLASTIQUE AND CLANCY BROWN GUEST STARS AS GENERAL EILING — After a bomb goes off downtown, the army, led by General Eiling (guest star Clancy Brown), rolls in and takes over the case, much to Joe’s (Jesse Martin)surprise. Wells (Tom Cavanagh) informs the team that Eiling was experimenting on his men to turn them into super soldiers. Ok, we know Barry can speed his face up to blur it out but does doing that distort his voice as well? Because if it doesn't I don't see how Iris wouldn't recognize his voice instantly.

If they wanted to continue their trend of subverting the angles they used in Arrow and give Iris a purpose in the show, they should have her find out he's Flash.

Okay, I want Eiling to be a major recurring antagonist.

Anybody else with me?

I just love this show, and it feels great to really get into it without over analysing it and just getting into the story. The effects are great, better than I expected they would be.

I'm with you man. Eiling should definitely stick around. Which kinda tells me where this thing is headed for the season finale. A second Particle Accelerator explosion. That's what could turn Eiling, Cisco, Dr. Snow, Captain Cold, perhaps even Harrison Wells and others into metahumans, and also re-release all the captured ones for cool follow ups and such.

I think that's a taste thing. CW is still in it's legacy as a sort of teen drama channel, and a lot of its shows reflect that, and a lot of its audience enjoys that. I think it's sort of sci-fi-channel-lite evolution finds some dissonance because part of the audience evaluates things based on their value to the sci fi elements and the other evaluates things based on it's value to the character's relationships. It is interesting though that the original plan with Smallville was for Lana to be Lois Lane (and Chloe to be Lana I think). In Iris' case, while some of the audience views anything she does while not talking about the Flash as boring, some of the audience finds her overcoming her insecurities about relationships to be the biggest and most relatable character moment in the episode. So it's not so much a problem for the show, but perhaps just for the part of the audience that spends more time on SHH than Tumblr.

Why couldn't Eiling have just created the super soldiers on his own. It's kind of getting on my nerves that every powered character comes from the Explosion.

Right now, every superpowered person hails from the same explosion (plus any possible Mirakuru survivors who have a fixation on nursery rhymes...). Eiling is traditionally the type of guy to find ways to get his people superpowers, and I think the fact that he has Captain Atom's sometimes love interest already in his employ means that Nathaniel Adam may be experimented on at some point.

And I really hope Eiling is big enough to be a threat to Waller.

Is Caitlin Snow actually going to become a villain? I'm not sure I want to see her turn evil.

She might, but it won't be for a while. There was a couple of other women who were versions of Killer Frost so they have that as an out.

It's enough that Harrison Wells is somewhat sinister and could turn out to be a villain. Imagine how Barry would feel if all his allies turn on him. As for Cisco, I have a bad vibe about him. :oldrazz:

Gorilla Grodd Confirmed To Appear On The Flash

flash-vol-4-23-1-grodd-textless-108738.jpg

During his sweeping new interview with Buzzfeed, DC Entertainment's Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns said a lot of pretty interesting things -- but a fairly small one stuck out as being worth calling attention to.

Expressing his excitement about The Flash on The CW, Johns said, "We want to inspire people with this stuff. And we want to get it out there. Like, I can’t believe Gorilla Grodd’s gonna be in a Flash TV show. That’s insane. Like, I say it out loud and I still think it’s insane. But that’s what we want to do; we want to break new ground."

While the existence of Grodd in-universe was established with the pilot and various people connected to the show have answered questions about that moment with things like "We don't tease for nothing," Johns's comment is -- unless we're mistaken -- the first official, direct comment that says without qualification, "Gorilla Grodd is going to be on television."

It will be the character's first live-action appearance, although he's appeared in numerous animated projects, both on TV and in direct-to-video feature films.

The Flash airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

Really not sure how this would really work...

Just go practical. Use one of the Tim Burton Planet of the Apes gorilla suits. They looked fine to me. CGI would be way too expensive on a TV budget and probably wouldn't look that realistic unless they spent tons on it. But then he could barely feature in the episode and they'd have to resort to Grodd taking on a human form which would be extremely contrived.

Could it be possible to introduce CAPTAIN MARVEL? Maybe Billy Batson?

He could take a break from the Walking Dead.

I'm not expecting POTA level Grodd but I guess they must be confident they can make him look credible if they are going to use him on the show, it's certainly a bold choice.

I'm a newcomer to the Flash comics, so havn't read any Grodd stories yet. I always thought his concept was really pushing the boundaries of comic books and whats possible, but then again I havn't seent he new POTA movies. Maybe it would just take watching those to see how a talking/intelligent gorilla could make sense.

Has Plastique shown up on Arrow before? I know she's been on Smallville, but somehow it feels like we're always getting the character in live media.

No, the closest they've come was Shrapnel last season, but he was plating bombs and detonating them, not causing explosions through some superpower.

I'm suprised by the effects as well. I wasn't for sure what to expect. I'm really loving this show.
