Kevin Smith has confirmed that longtime collaborator Jason Mewes will appear in his episode of The Flash.
Fans have been wondering if Mewes and Smith would cameo in as their characters Jay and Silent Bob, best known from Smiths own oeuvre of films, in the episode.
I did not put Jay and Silent Bob in it, Smith said on an episode of the Hollywood Babble-On podcast. I did put Jay in it.
It turns out Mewes is a huge fan of the CWs DC TV universe.
Because he was my conduit to those shows, Smith explained. "Arrow is his religion, dude. He almost came to visit me on Flash just so he could walk across the lot and look at the Arrow sets and ****, and dream about salmon laddering up and ****.
Originally, Mewes came to set in the role of Smiths assistant, but The Flash writers wrote a role for him in the script. Smith responded by the saying to them, Are you ****ting me? Because his ***king head will explode if I tell him that hes going to be on a CW show, that hes going to live on the CW.
Smith was vague about the details, but did reveal that Mewes is in two scenes. He plays an adult, and has lines in his first scene, but Smith says he was even more excited about his second scene, where hes a person in a big crowd shot, simply because he got to wear a mask. Smith also said that Mewes cried after filming the second scene, something Smith has only seen him do after the birth of his child.
