Should we make a Flash on Supergirl episode thread in here?

There is already one.

Why are people posting spoilers about a movie in a tv section that's in a completely different universe.

There's even a thread in this section about BvS, whose very title is a spoiler in itself. I don't see why that can't be posted in the BvS section since it is, as you say, a completely different universe.

so is this flash completely separate from the movie universe? and this flash tv show will continue in conjunction with the movies?

Yes, and we'll see. Smallville was separate from Superman Returns and still ran long enough to see its own end (which is weird because both were loosely connected to the Donner Films, with SR being a vague sequel and Smallville using the theme and some likenesses).

This version of the Flash will most likely be in a different universe, just like his world is separate from Supergirl, but at the same time, with DC killing off Deadshot, Amanda Waller and not showing Deathstroke or Captain Boomerang again because of Suicide Squad, there's still the possibility that the show will either end or be completely different by the time the Flash film comes out.

so it's a multiverse? that's how supergirl and flash have crossed over?

I've never seen an episode of Supergirl, but I have tonight's recorded with her Flash teamup. We get two nights of Flash this week. :slash:

Hi guys and gals, I was just wondering, do I need to watch (catch up) season 2 of Flash before I watch the Supergirl crossover? Are there going to be spoilers or storylines from earlier in the season that I need to know about?

I'm thinking of putting off watching the crossover until I'm fully up to date with episodes, what do y'all think? Please don't give me exact plot/story points/spoilers though :woot:

The crossover didn't really have anything to do with The Flash's storylines, at all. He just traveled into Supergirl's universe/dimension, helps Supergirl, and then leaves. You'll be fine if you're not caught up.

I didn't even really like the crossover. I guess I'm just not a fan of the Supergirl show?

Kevin Smith Confirms Jason Mewes Will Appear on The Flash

Kevin Smith has confirmed that longtime collaborator Jason Mewes will appear in his episode of The Flash.

Fans have been wondering if Mewes and Smith would cameo in as their characters Jay and Silent Bob, best known from Smith’s own oeuvre of films, in the episode.

“I did not put Jay and Silent Bob in it,” Smith said on an episode of the Hollywood Babble-On podcast. “I did put Jay in it.”

It turns out Mewes is a huge fan of the CW’s DC TV universe.
“Because he was my conduit to those shows,” Smith explained. "Arrow is his religion, dude. He almost came to visit me on Flash just so he could walk across the lot and look at the Arrow sets and ****, and dream about salmon laddering up and ****.”

Originally, Mewes came to set in the role of Smith’s “assistant,” but The Flash writers wrote a role for him in the script. Smith responded by the saying to them, “Are you ****ting me? Because his ***king head will explode if I tell him that he’s going to be on a CW show, that he’s going to live on the CW.”

Smith was vague about the details, but did reveal that Mewes is in two scenes. He plays an adult, and has lines in his first scene, but Smith says he was even more excited about his second scene, where he’s a person in a big crowd shot, simply because he got to wear a mask. Smith also said that Mewes cried after filming the second scene, something Smith has only seen him do after the birth of his child.

Pity they weren't able to sneak Jay & Silent Bob in there in some form... But cool for Mewes

You'll be fine. Technically, the episode spoiled things anyway. As long as you have a basic understanding of the idea of alternate universes (which they explain anyway), you're OK.

Thanks Mike

I do get the alternate/multiple universe thing. Also do you know if there are any cross over episodes with Flash and Arrow this season? As I want to get the episode orders right to watch them in.

Thanks Travesty, I'll watch it now knowing no spoils for Flash. I also need to get an episode watch order list for Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow. I'm presuming there is crossover episodes etc there. Would you have any idea as I'm being too lazy to search myself haha.

I'm a fan of the Supergirl show myself, it has flaws but heck, so does everything. Have you watched many episodes?

That was my first time I've watched Supergirl.

Same. Not really a fan of CBS style shows and it felt exactly like one. Loved the dynamic between Flash and Supergirl though. Would watch again if he showed up on there.

Was it just me, or did Flash's suit on Supergirl look...cheaper in a way? Maybe because the show is much lighter or something? The mask looked too flimsy, and the belt area looked way too loose.

The crossover was fun. Hopefully there will be more and I totally ship Barry and Kara.

Gustin and Benoist are basically siblings. She's the female Gustin. Awkward, yet likeable. Though I still think she's miscast as a Kryptonian, but whatever.

I thought it was a great episode, but another break?! :(
