We recently saw some set photos of what appeared to be Earth 2 Barry, so I'm gonna have to guess Earth-2.

I've been reading alternate earth DC stories for 30-odd years, but seeing it all on screen reminds me of something a tad more recent - 'Fringe', which isn't a bad thing as that show was awesome.

Don't know if anyone else has posited this, but...

My theory is that Zoom is Jay Garrick and not Earth 1 Jay, but the current Earth 2 Jay...just from the future.

Got this idea once I saw that Harrison Wells helped develop Velocity-6 and Jay basically warns of the dire consequences (or something like that) of messing with the Speed Force. It's a 'living thing' and it shouldn't be tampered with. He's basically foreshadowing his own degeneration into Zoom.

It just makes sense to me. Jay is yet another mentor to Barry, just like Wells was in Season 1 and it would add an extra dimension to Zoom. Now Zoom isn't just some faceless evil entity with a nefarious plan anymore, he's someone we've grown to like and someone we've welcomed wholeheartedly into the team Flash 'family'.

Zoom now becomes a sympathetic character who's turn to the darkness wasn't even something he ever wanted. He was pushed into it via his good intentions (taking the drug to save Harry's life).

Remember when they not-so-subtly put emphasis on Jay using the word "drug" to describe the Velocity-6 serum? I think that was some more foreshadowing. Velocity-6 is now the drug that ends up slowly driving Jay mad, and corrupting the latent speed force in his system. Jay's speed force is tainted, thus the new blue lightning (hey, why not) and now he has the added ability to absorb the speed force from other speedsters. Now he searches out other speedsters not only to prove he's the fastest, but also to satiate his rapacious 'hunger' for more of the speed force. So essentially, he's become a speed force junkie.

Either that one dose was enough to drive his transformation into Zoom, or he'll have to take it again in a future episode, who knows...

Also, Jay was the one who figured out how to travel through the breaches, so that's how Zoom knows how to. Zoom wasn't at all surprised when he unmasked Barry and Zoom knew that Barry used to date Linda Park...because he's already lived through all these events! Zoom caught the ligntning and tossed it back at Barry, because he's the one who taught him that move!

We've seen Barry time travel a few times now and Zoom is much faster, so we can assume he could be able to time travel as well.

Now we get into more complicated causal loop territory because Zoom only exists to begin with because Harrison Wells helped create Velocity-6 in order to stop Zoom, boom -predestination paradox...which is awesome!

Some more foreshadowing, Harrison thinks he created Zoom because of his particle accelerator and in a very roundabout way he did. He gave Jay Garrick his powers, then while trying to stop Zoom developed Velocity-6 which then created Zoom. So Harry is the creator of his own misery...anyway, now I'm just rambling. I'll just leave this here, cuz honestly, don't know where else to post it. But yeah, future Jay Garrick is Zoom. That's the gist.
