The Flash The Flash General Discussion and Speculation Thread - Part 7

It's called the MID-SEASON finale for a reason. The season won't be completely over until, like May.

It actually kind of makes sense. A neck lift both seriously hurts and impedes Barry, *and* keeps his feet off the ground negating most of his superspeed options. If I were a brick with hangs big enough to do so, I certainly would want to. Much better to grapple the Flash than to punch him, if you get an opportunity.

It makes no sense that a dude that can on a whim can catch a bullet keeps letting himself get grabbed by the neck.

So this was asked by CBR below. thought I put it up yeah you can answer here.(but I'm not the one that really asked this, just sending it your way.)
Maybe it'll make more impact where they are so they can see it and the message will get across to the show runners. "May be"

Would you prefer to see Killer Frost on "The Flash," or for Caitlin to keep her current status quo?

LOL!!

Barry is vulnerable if he's not concentrating on moving. He was nearly taken out by a normal human with a stick in The Final Night because his attention was diverted.

That's what we call... "Contrivance". :sly: Which, unfortunately, is getting to be the credo of this show and it's writing.

Make perfect sense if he's caught off guard, like he was in those situations. Let's not make the Flash TOO uber-powered, it makes for a pretty boring character. it makes him a much more human and believable character if he can make mistakes and get caught off guard like that.

Yah, let's have it so the only people who could possibly beat him at anything is someone like Zoom, who's faster than him. Yah, that wouldn't be boring at all :whatever:

No, it's one of the built-in devices that each highly-powered character has to expedite the drama. Superman turns into puking mess at the sight of a green rock, Hulk takes a few deep breaths and is suddenly on the Topher Grace diet plan, Mjolnir decides it wants a girlfriend instead of a god, etc, etc, etc. You could say that all of these are silly from a certain perspective, but characters like these and speedsters like Flash have to have a few trap doors through which they can fall so that the odds can occasionally be stacked against them.

Just saw this found this a bit interesting with it's list of heroes and villains

It is no more of a contrivance than your "evil clone" theory for BvS...just saying :sly:

Gotta admit, this dude's costume looks better than most of the costumes that we've seen villains use on this show.

Another female hero speedter is on her way and another meta villain as well

Just wild speculation here but does anyone else think/hope that Harry's daughter is going to turn out to be a villain in the end? It would be a good twist on the tired, cliched "damsel in distress" trope and provide an excuse for Harry to stay on in Earth-1 at the end of the season - either because he sees his daughter as his responsibility (with her staying on in Earth-1) or because there's nothing left for him in Earth-2 (if she dies).

Hmm so like she's in cahoots with Zoom? I like that but with her been Jesse Quick I'm not sure it will.
