I adore Patty Spivot. She's so cute! :yay: She'll be Barry's best love interest yet, not that that's too hard.

OTOH, I don't like Jay at all. His face and the actor's flat delivery of his lines bugs me. Unfortunately, it looks as though he'll be sticking around to carry on a romance with Caitlin.

Hooray for the return of Wells! Now he just needs to come back to E1.

I don't understand why Sanddemon allowed Patty to capture him. He certainly was fortunate that his doppleganger wasn't around to be questioned. That would've blown up his whole story. Nor do I get why he disappeared after punching the Flash. Surely he knew he hadn't killed him.

I liked the first ep just fine but I agree that this was stronger.
This is where I stand.

I think the character is meant to be flat for this episode.

Great episode! No unnecessary emotional drama, great quips, nice action. And our Spivot is stunning!

I feel that Jay should have been older and a more experienced Flash, but more importantly, seriously hoping that more JSA'ers come through the portal.

I enjoyed this episode much more than the first.

I really liked the characterisation of Jay Garrick and Patty Spivot. Both actors seemed to share a similar genial charisma which works well with the existing cast.

I thought that Caitlin crushing on Jay was a little odd. Understandable, but still odd given that in the last episode it was shown that she had deliberately isolated herself after Ronnie's death. Now, she's suddenly giving inspiring speeches about moving on and new opportunities. I guess that she's technically mourned Ronnie's death for some time (since he's "died" twice), but it still seemed a little rushed for me.

I do hope that Iris actively demonstrates her journalistic or other skills in the team soon. Sure, she serves the role of Barry's "best friend" pretty well, but Joe pretty much has that role covered. It would be good to see Iris actively investigating the metahuman/threat of the week, etc. Or possibly trying to educate the public about metahumans, both good and bad, through her published articles.

I'm a little unsure about Cisco's powers. So, they're tied to parallel worlds and alternate timelines? He seems to be able to view alternate timelines and events in his world/timeline related to people who have crossed over from Earth 2 (Atom Smasher and Sand Demon, although strangely, not Jay Garrick seemed to inspire visions).

And I'm still a little unsure about Zoom. So, he's a big, BIG bad. But, he couldn't kill Jay Garrick after two years of trying? And he wants to be the only Speedster, but only recently even learned about the existence of parallel worlds? And even though he's a huge threat and a mass-murderer, Earth 2 Central City seemed to be almost Utopian in the brief glimpse that we had with the alternate Harrison Wells. Not to mention the fact that he keeps sending baddies to Earth 1 to kill Barry, yet can't be bothered to do the job himself? And I'm still confused why the baddies, so far, are so keen to get back to their world. Wouldn't they be happy just running amok and causing trouble on Earth 1?

I was also a little unclear on what Jay has been doing for six months. How did he follow The Flash? If Team Flash have been separated for the past six months, how did he piece everything together to know their identities, their base of operations, etc. Is it because Cisco, Caitlin, Martin, etc were part of his own Team Flash on Earth 2? Without the speed force, surely he shouldn't have been capable of following Barry to STAR labs, etc? Not to mention the fact that he presumably was earning a living somehow, so had to do all of his investigating in his off hours.

Finally, I'm not so sure about Team Flash, particularly Barry, suddenly being okay with killing their metahuman opponents, even if it is in self-defence. Sure, Sand Demon could be okay and *may* be locked up either in STAR labs or the new metahuman prison. But, they seemed to kill off Atom Smasher with a pitiful "I'm sorry" from Barry. It's just strikes me as a little odd.

Anyway, there may be a few quibbles, but I only have quibbles because I'm once again engaged with the characters and the story.

Better episode than I expected. A couple of things I liked:

Patty is a great addition, enjoyed her character a lot and her chemistry with Barry seems natural.

Jay was awesome, loved his entrance and his cool vibes. Teddy did a great job introducing the character. Jay and Caitlin were interesting together, clearly a rebound but Caitlin seems to be interested in him. I guess it feels like she's interested in a version of Barry from another time.

Cisco, I'm a tad confused on why he wants to hide his powers. Him confiding in just Stein was strange, the whole team should know. But I loved seeing how he was able to bring it out the second time he did it.

Joe was unexpectedly funny, reminded me of the time where he laughed when Barry showed him he could vibrate his voice.

I think the story line of Barry being standoffish works for what happened but what I don't completely understand is why the show doesn't acknowledged that the metas were killed. It'd be nice to know if they were or not. Judging from the way it looks they were, where's Barry's compassion? What happened to him?

Things that need work:

Iris needs character building. Her own POV would be nice. Something that doesn't look forced and thrown together so it looks like she's doing something just to do something. Her being "the sweet nothing" whisperer isn't the way to build her up. She needs realism. An actual story arc. The writers keep failing in that area.

Eventually they need to address the metas being killed. Reminds me of the first season of Arrow. This doesn't sound like something Barry would do or the team would allow. The first season at least had that human aspect, it feels nonexistent here.

Yeah I'm thinking if the writers would introduce this character as somewhat credible, actively honing her skills as a reporter, she'll shine. Right now, I feel like I'm watching One Tree Hill. She brings way too much drama and not each meaty story. She needs to be believable as a journalist. When Barry said that about her I almost laughed, because I honestly didn't see how that was true in retrospect.

Enjoyed the episode. Loved the addition of both Jay and Patty. I am very interested to see how the characters are furthered developed! Thank you Flash for getting me excited again for the long haul!!

I always assumed Patty's surname is pronounced Spy-vot, pronouncing it as they do in this show got me by surprise.

Liked this episode a lot.
Really enjoying Sears as Jay Garrick.
I do hope he eventually gets his powers back, but I'm liking the role that he's playing so far.
The flashback to his last fight with zoom was pretty awesome.
Definitely hope we see more. :D

Zoom is just cool as hell.
Really really like his design.
I was kinda sad that they ditched the blue/lit up eyes on him, but I think what they went with makes him even creepier.
Sets him apart from RF a little more too.

And yeah, as others have said
Patty's great. :woot: :atp:

I enjoyed the development of the dynamic between Barry and Jay, the villain of the week wasn't very interesting but he served the purpose of a device to build the scenes that brought the Flash's together for a satisfying conclusion.

I also thought it was a good debut for Patty, she's instantly likable and should make a great new partner for Joe and potential love interest for Barry.

I'm not really familiar with Vibe so the developments with Cisco are intriguing, and he's the unsung hero of the show IMO, he boosts every character he has a scene with, Stein being the latest benficiary.

I was surprised when Momma West showed up, I thought she was dead.

I thought last week's episode was good. Not amazing, but good.

This episode was even better. It's getting crowded, but I don't think I see it as a bad thing. Already you can tell this season is going to stand apart from the first season. When it's all said and done, my hope is for each season to be identifiable in their own way. That being said, here are my thoughts on the episode.

• Earth-2 and the Multiverse concept is a dream come true. It's so cool that this is happening on TV, and on this show.
• Jay Garrick is an awesome addition. I'll admit I don't know too much about his character other than him being the first Flash in the comics, but Teddy Sears is killing it, and is a great dynamic opposite Barry.
• Iris has been good these past couple of episodes--a real change up from Season 1 Iris.
• Patty Spivot is also a dream come true. Reading the New 52 series, she's coming to life on-screen just fine and I can't wait for a romance to blossom between her and Barry.
• Harrison Wells. Frickin' love Tom Cavanagh.
• Zoom....this is going to bug me for a really long time. Who the HELL is this guy? He looks freaking COOL. The mystery will kill me. I don't think it's Wells (it'd be too repetitive for him to be the big bad again), I don't think it's Eddie, and I don't think it's Earth-2 Barry. I know Zoom in the comics is "Hunter Zolomon", and with Season 1, I knew that the Reverse Flash is Eobard Thawne, yet no Eobard was in plain view, UNTIL episode 15 (God bless that episode) revealed that he was in fact Eobard. So I expect a similar-ish reveal for Zoom this season.

Really enjoyed it !

Best of all the shout out to the Flash of two worlds cover, where both Barry and Jay rush towards Patty.

I've liked the first two episodes of the new season, but I also feel the show may be hitting a slight slump. It's a bit repetitive: another speedster who's lost his speed and been displaced from his home is serving as Barry's mentor, and another dark and shadowy bad guy whose identity is unknown is terrorizing the team.

I think a fresh approach might've had Barry being sucked into the singularity and arriving on Earth-2 (as in the original "Flash of Two Worlds" story). It would've been a nice reversal to see Barry struggling with RF's original problems - losing his powers and finding a way to get home (at least for the first few eps).

I agree. And I'm sure a lot of people were expecting Flash to get sucked into the singularity, and to spend at least a few Episodes trying to find his way back.

I still enjoy the Episodes, but it's a shame that they didn't really shake up the formula.

When and how did Ronnie die again ? I missed this part in the previous episode.
Also, how does Doc is still alive if his other half is dead ?

When Cisco and Stein were looking for the location of the breach, why didn't they just ask Jay, since the place in Central City where he found himself after travelling through the portal in Earth-2 to Earth-1 would be the location of the breach, right? Similarly, Jay could've told Team Flash without being asked

You know thinking about it more what if Zoom is Henry Allen. Now think about this the thing about thanks for getting me out of jail but I need to leaved seemed a little bit weird to me. That's another Suspect we could put in the Zoom list just because well a long time ago he was the Flash in the other show and just think if it is Henry Allen think how Barry will feel.
