The tachyon device in his chest plate makes him as fast as zoom. He needed it keep up or Zoom dust him.

That was pre-journey into the speed force. We have no idea if that made him faster or unlocked any potential. There's nothing substantial to suggest it has but it seems to be a popular theory and I'd personally prefer that to him always having to use the tachyon device as a crutch.

The overhead shot through the city seemed to show the two of them pretty much on equal footing, without any sort of detour as well.

truthbe told he not using that since his talk with the speed force he's not using the tachyon device he was so over confident due to his talk and taping into the speed force that he's supposed to be faster now. but this episode was to supposed to show case it's never good to be that way.

Agreed, the episode was dumb, some scenes were badly written.

Zoom takes Henry, Barry chases him, then Zoom stops and Barry stops too... Why didn’t Barry just keep going, he could've hit Zoom and take his father to safety. Barry apparently learned nothing from surrendering his speed to Zoom. He gave it up to save Wally, and now he offers to let Zoom kill him rather than Henry. If you let Zoom kill you, what do you think is going to happen after that? They always make Barry stupid for plot convenience, he should know better by now instead of repeating the same mistakes over and over.

Zoom has been a lame villain, too much talking and little else, he could've killed the entire Central City police force, but nothing. Then he lets Team Flash do their business as usual instead of trying to take them out. Of course, the show is not going to eliminate the whole cast, but then have a logical explanation, like he can't enter Star Labs because Wells created a special field to keep him away, it's better than Zoom doing nothing. And him pretending that Barry is like him is nonsensical, not only he's psychotic, but delusional, he's more annoying than anything. Tom Cavanagh's Eobard Thawne was a really great villain, up there with some of the best like Ledger's Joker and Hiddleston's Loki.

On the positives, Katie Cassidy did a good job as Black Siren, they allowed her to have fun, smile (more than Arrow), it really makes a difference. And Black Siren had a real Canary Cry, the way it should've been with Black Canary.

If Berlanti & co want to fix Arrow, they have another chance, Earth-2 Laurel should meet Quentin and Sara sooner or later, it would be a waste if she doesn't. Thru flashbacks, explain why she became a villain, we know Earth-2 Oliver is dead, maybe her father died too, starting her descent into villainy, etc. With the support from her Earth-1 family, she could redeem herself and become the new Black Canary.

It was nice seeing John Wesley Shipp and Amanda Pays back on screen together, after nearly a quarter century since they portrayed Barry Allen and Tina McGee in The Flash 1990. Another fun fact, Katie Cassidy's father, David Cassidy, fought Wesley Shipp's Flash as Mirror Master. t:

Fix arrow ? as far as see it katie is better off as the black siren on flash under Andrew Krisingberg's writing team. if she get's under MG again it'll the same again and he'll kill the black siren. so nope thanks.

it's been stated that Geoff john's will be overseeing not only the movies but the tv shows with Berlanti as stated by gamer news outlets interested in shows like the flash and other comic book related shows

black siren is a meta un like the show arrow's version of black canary. so there's no device and since it's a meta prison she wont be able to use her power inthe cell regardless.

I don't know why people are assuming Barry's faster than Zoom. He was barely faster than him before he gave him all his speed. So Zoom had twice Barry's normal speed before the speed force thing. Yes it's implied that Barry got a boost in his abilities, as well as his confidence, but i'm willing to bet he's still pretty even with Zoom.

Barry had no reason to think that if he kept going Zoom wouldn't just dodge it and snap Henry's neck or something. The biggest issue with scenes like this isn't a writing flaw. It's that Barry chooses to take the safest route, while his enemies are playing by different rules.

I blame Henry, Joe and Iris. If they hadn't knocked Barry down a peg, and he'd kept thinking he was infallible, he could have probably taken Henry without Zoom expecting it. But classic Barry, put his family on the line, and he crumples. It's actually pretty consistent characterization.

100% they will get their powers. They not only made sure to have them get hit by the accelerator, but made sure to show The Flash's disintegrated force going through them both.

They'll either introduce the start of it in the season finale, or the beginning of next season.

Guessing they'll just be latent metahumans like Cisco was for most of season 1. Wouldn't be surprised if one or both of them show their first signs of the speedforce in the finale.
