So...can anyone verify that the Kinect is some executives way of dreaming up methods to make gamers look ridiculous with all the flailing about?

Depends what ya play. Theres no more 'flailing' than what the Wii offers.

I actually think the Kinect is more flailing than the Wii...Unless you intentionally buy the shovelware. However...for the most part, Kinect games (meaning only Kinect) are every bit the shovelware that the Wii had.

I also don't think that the Kinect worked as well as the Wiimotion + It was always losing me or whatever. Either way I got rid of mine...Tech is "neat" but at the same time...Stupid.

Eh there are games that require you to waggle the wiimote, really? Thats not more "flailing" than the kinect? In all the kinect games iv played, which granted has been limited to dance central, a few demos and kinect sports, i wasnt "flailing" in any of them. In fact i looked the exact same as i did when i would play the Wii over at my aunts house with my little 6 year old cousin.

Iv never gotten any joy out of the Wii to warrant spending more than 30 minutes total with the thing let alone a purchase and unfortunately the only joy iv gotten out of kinect has been the voice commands for Mass Effect 3. After all this time, iv come to the conclusion i dont really much care for the whole motion thing in games. Maybe someday it'll be really cool, but its not now.

The fact that Sony made a copy of the Wii mote is very telling though of where the that whole issue stands though.

Any way I just saw this now and it's just strengthens what Hippy Hunter mention on COD.

Macs don't count anyway. If you had a tower, you can move it.
Towers arent meant to be moved and that defeats the purpose of having one. A person is better off getting a laptop if they want a PC thats more mobile

There are plenty of towers that are portable. I've even seen some with nifty handles on the top.

Portable, as in console portable as in the Steambox. PC gamers can throw out all this nonsense, but the PC is not designed for living room gaming, if they were Valve woudnt be jumping into that arena.

Thats not feasible, unless the tower is really small. Thats why the Steambox is going to be the best option for someone wanting to use a pc for gaming.

Which is why I mentioned HTPC builds. There are cases specifically for them that are smaller than consoles in fact.

If you want a living room PC, put the tower by your TV or build a HTPC and put it on your stand.

I wonder if the Steam box will be upgradable, or more like consoles and laptops.

Yeah, didn't I read you can just plug the graphics card out and put in a new one?

Sure if you plan on buying one in mind for the future. Someone that already has a desktop, not created for that though? SOL

If he wanted the PC by his tv, it probably would have been and its not feasible for everyone to do so. I for example have mine on a desk, where I can work from. Its not very convenient or makes sense to move it near my living room tv if I wanted to do the same. Thats the case for alot of people

I only have a few bucks to buy a new game and decided to kick it old school. I got Persona 4 for the PS2. It's coming Wednesday and I can't wait. I loved Persona 3 FES to death and I anticipate getting as much if not more playtime out of the next game. It'll be nice to dust off my PS2 and give it a whirl after it's recent demise.

Didn't they just re-release that on the PS3? Nevermind, looks like it's a semi sequel.

Yeah, Arena is a fighter/sequel. They did release a remake on the Vita called Persona 4 Golden, but I can't bring myself to buy a Vita for one game since I have no interest in any other Vita games.

Still waiting for that Persona 5 announcement. :/

Industry analyst: Xbox 720 to release this November, $400 price point

Oftentimes, when it comes to analyzing our wonderful industry, the always-pleasant Michael Pachter presents us with predictions and analysis, but today another industry analyst has voiced their opinion on the inevitable next-gen console launch; more specifically the “Xbox 720,” as it’s currently known to be.
In an interview with gamesindustry, Colin Sebastian, an analyst at Baird Equity Research, stated that he believes the Xbox 720/Durango will be released to the public this November at a $400 price point. Sebastian also told gamesindustry that he believes that we’ll see both the Playstation 4 and Xbox 720 announced at separate media events (a la Apple), and have their first playable demos at this year’s E3 in Los Angeles.
"Given the fragile state of the console game market, we expect the E3 trade show in June will take on added significance, most likely providing the industry with the first public opportunity to examine next-generation hardware," Sebastian stated.
The Baird analyst also believes that both next-gen consoles will be built off of “high-end PC components,” that will favor development cycles, and more so, Microsoft’s game business.
“Moreover, a PC-based architecture (Intel chips in the case of Xbox) should have a number of advantages over custom-developed silicon: for one, the learning curve for software developers will be shorter than completely new technology. Second, the cost of production and retail price points should be lower than prior console launches.”
“…It will be easier to build online services around PC chip architecture, including flexible business models (free-to-play, subscriptions) and multi-media (over the top) content offerings. For Microsoft, this design will also allow for more integration with Windows 8 and Windows Mobile devices," he added.”
Sebastian’s interview also touched on Sony’s development cycle of the Playstation 4. Interestingly enough, he believes we’ll see the PS4 a month earlier than the Xbox 720, so October in Sebastian’s words, though he predictions the next-gen Sony product may feature ”early production issues” due to what he called “field checks.”
Though there’s still much to learn when it comes to these next-gen consoles, Sebastian’s predictions do not seem too far-fetched, especially when it comes to the console unveils. We now turn to you, though; when do you believe we’ll see the PS4 and Xbox 720 unveiled to the public? Let us know by commenting below.

Been messing with both the SIII and the iphone 5...come Feb I may very well stick with HTC a d upgrade to the SIII. I just don't like the "smallness" of the iphone when I compare the two.

Nothing beats iOS, especially anything found on a Samsung.

Lumia 920 Windows Phone is pretty good. I prefer the bigger phones too.
