Thanks man. Ive got a friend thats gonna let me borrow LBP2 and im just waitin for the last of us to come down in price. Also im definitely gonna pick up ratchet and clank and at least try the second killzone and if i like it ill get the third. The first resistance was great, i remember playing the whole thing with a friend way back when it first came out. Does heavy rain have regular gameplay or is it just mostly quick time events?
HR’s action segments are primarily composed of QTE. Like you will never have the freedom to hold and aim a gun, drive a car or engage in freeform combat. That was a turnoff to some people but it didn’t bother me. The story was engaging enough and the interactions with other characters, exploration and choices you can make were the main draw.

If you get into Ratchet, start with Tools of Destruction. It ends on a cliffhanger which sets the stage for the next title, Crack in Time. There was a PSN title called Quest for Booty released in between them which bridged the gap between both games.

Most of what I list have demos so be sure to check them out if you are unsure.

ETA:

I forgot to mention but last year Sony started releasing PS3 Collections which compile the games released in a series for the PS3. Here are some of the ones you may want to pick up

Bad advice! Aside from whats been mentioned:

Heavy Rain was my favorite game from 2010. If you are into games with a great and immersive story, this is for you. Its very unique and offers an original experience not found in many other titles this gen
I get why would LBP be loved, although I don't enjoy it myself

Heavy Rain on the other hand, is something I'd get a refund for if I owned, it bored me to tears, gameplay is dull and uninspired, and I don't see the value of it. If I wanted a story I'd watch a similar movie

Last of Us is probably a good suggestion

Mark of the Ninja developer Klei announces Incognita

Klei Entertainment, which has been getting some solid attention for Don't Starve and Mark of the Ninja, has just announced Incognita, a "turn-based tactical espionage" game.

Beyond a name and a genre declaration, there isn't much on Incognita at the moment. However, if you click on the bottom right of its splash page, it does take agents to another page for deciphering. Klei has a forum post up so folks can "speculate, discuss and communicate with [Klei]."

[Update — Ed.] IGN has a little more information from Klei founder Jamie Cheng, who says, “In the majority of turn-based games, positioning is your number one priority … From our standpoint, we wanted to make a game where information is one of the key things that you want.”
XCOM is an influence—permadeath and all—but as Cheng says, gathering intel in Incognita is the best way to keep your crew alive. “So you need to hack, secure security cameras, you need to find out where enemies are and be smart about it,” he says. Procedurally generated levels should make that a repeatable challenge. (from the same place)

So, this is a game in deep cover? Gotcha.

Interesting, love Klei, Mark of the Ninja and Shank are two of my favourite games on arcade titles.

Will certainly check this out too.

seeing that it's one of few spy thrillers will actually see it'll be a tremendous hit.

oh and here's some thing from before

Here’s a 20 minute chat between members of the Satellite Reign development team, 5 Lives Studios. It covers some of the questions raised since the announcement of the Kickstarter for the Syndicate Wars spiritual sequel. That includes a discussion on their plans for combat, character classes and sandbox city simulation, and also a clarification on the game’s handling of morality (and ramen).

SWEET! I love it. First we get a new Shadowrun game and now this. I can't wait!

Journey is a beautiful game, but I beat it in less than an hour. :/ Not sure if justified purchase.

I've only played through Journey once with the first person I got partnered with. Took about 2 hours. We messaged each other afterwards saying thanks. It was a wonderful experience. No regrets.

I am thinking about picking up Silent Hill: Downpour for the 360. Does it have any side-quests, or anything to expand the gameplay, outside of the main narrative?

I'm going to say this in ignorance because I have not played Downpour, but traditionally those type of games don't have much of that. A lot of the replay of those games come from trying to get all the endings. But you can get that for $25 right now on Amazon, so it's pretty cheap.

90% of gamers today can't finish the first level of Super Mario Bros.

Man, I did that **** when I was a toddler.

This is why we can't have nice things.

This quote is a fail

I feel that Nintendo games today are much easier which is why the Wii U might be failing
Really? The reason the Wii U is failing is bc Nintendo's games are easier? Oh boy, managament sure doesnt seem to have a clue. At least on one hand he at least admits that the system is a failure, but I dont think making the games harder will solve that problem

New Super Mario Bros U isn't too easy, it's just incredibly bland, charmless, and boring.

What? Hard? LOL. Ya right I beat all those games much easier then games in the past. Nintendo has gotten somewhat easier is a problem. Especially with New Super Mario Bro Wii U. Super Mario 3 is still one of the hardest of the main ones, and Mario 64 had it's challenges. Donkey Kong Country 2 was truly truly hard.

And speaking of hard that Contra sweater=awesome.

Contra, the type of game that you would pull your hair out.

Got to borrow Shadows of the Damned from a friend of mine. It's pretty solid. The gameplay is very basic third person shooting, but it's still pretty fun. The amount of dick jokes, though, have managed to get old just in the little I've played. I mean...Jesus. Suda's games always have that weird, juvenile sense of humor, but it's usually balanced out by strangeness or more satirical humor. I even get the occasional chuckle out of it.

The design of hell/the underworld is really good, though.

Anyone play Ninja Gaiden 3 here, by chance? I missed it while I was overseas. Was thinking of getting Razor's Edge when it comes to 360, but I remember hearing some pretty horrible feedback when the vanilla edition was released, which made me sad, since I'd come to love that franchise.

yeah Razor's Edge made up for the bad version that was put out prior to it.You can pick that up one on any of the systems you wish to buy or rent (to try it out first). Just skip 3. and pick that one up.
