Daredevil The Inevitable Costume Thread - Part 2

I've been thinking about the "black parts to break things up" thing, and I feel like the idea isn't without merit, it just could have been done better. By keeping the black parts confined to the "joints" on the body or "gaps" between main muscle groups, they could have kept the suit from being a sea of red (though honestly, I don't really see the problem with that), while maintaining overall the appearance of a guy in a red suit.

I drew up a little sketch of what I was thinking of. It is by no means meant to be a full design - mainly just to show where the black bits would be - those are the darker bits.

But as you see from the way I've coloured it, I also had the idea that those darker bits could just be a darker red, instead of black. So the suit would be darkish red and darkER red. I think that could look really cool.

Also, if you can imagine it, the dark bits would be "one layer down" from the brighter bits, if you get my drift, with the red bits being very slightly "raised". As with the existing suit, it would all be 95% fabric, with a few hard elements.

Yeah I think that would work better.

Not keen on Daredevil hopping everywhere though.

Don't be silly, he just borrowed Sue Storm's powers.

If you're talking Marvel Unlimited (since I can't comment on internet piracy), the Typhoid and Lone Stranger periods of Nocenti's run are covered, but not the beginning and the end. The TPB cover the same period with the new Epic Collection Touch of Typhoid covers a bit more.

Nice :woot:
I almost always buy from bookdepository.com. The shipping is free and pretty fast.

Thanks, much appreciated! :yay:

Hmm, it's hard for me to imagine exactly how it would look like in real life (not knocking your painting :cwink:) but it's sounds cool with a darker red for some parts of the suit. That could look really good.

After seeing all of the new footage and stills from season 2, I'm in love with the outfit.

I feel the same way. I really love the red lenses, it just feel so much more Daredevil with them.

To me it only looked a different shade from that shot with his back turned to us.

But yes, I love the suit!

Looks like they may have changed the eyes to a brighter red. That was something I was hoping they would do so they wouldn't blend in so much with the mask.

The new mask is excellent and they did a good job with the overall improvements.

Also, Charlie Cox also mentioned in a conference call today that the new outfit gave him some more protection for fight scenes and stunts, wasn't that constrictive.

What's with the black face mask in some promo shots? The ears are different in that as well

scatterax, I think that's just the same first mask for the Daredevil costume at the end of last season.

But the face plate was red last season, and it's black and split down the middle in the chain poster.

Actually it was more of a black-ish last season. Here you go:

I would say parts of it are black at least. As for the split, you will have to watch and see ;) .

It was a dark red but certainly not entirely black.

It was weird. It was definitely darker than the rest of the red on the helmet piece. It may not have been 100% black but it may as well have been. This image is from season 1.

I mean, its changed now. No need to bash something thats no longer relevant.

yeah that pic is misleading as that was a test fitting they did with Charlie early on. In the actual series, the face plate was a darker red that the rest of the mask, but it was not black.
Trust me on this, I have like a bazillion screen caps that I took and I have studied that costume to it's finest details....I had to when I made my custom figure last year.
