There are a lot more genre only watchers as compared to any movie watchers on here...so it is a hard concept for some to get.

That's exactly the first one that came to my mind.

I never thought about it like that, but it kind of sums this place up perfectly. Not a bad thing It just explains why when I express my love for certain films, it just can't be understood.

I certainly agree about the different feel of the movies, but for some reason I can't stand Batman Returns anymore than Schumacher's movies. I guess the movie just taught me that I hate the Penguin.

Yeah I couldn't stand Burton's interpretation of the Penguin either, but I did like Catwoman somewhat, and you could tell that the movies were direct sequels.

For me Fantastic Four was a much bigger letdown. It's a good group and it featured one of my three favorite villains, but almost nothing lived up to expectations.

Certainly understandable. It was a missed opportunity, and again disappointing because they got a number of things right but failed so badly with Doom. I had hope that they would fix things in the sequel, but it actually got worse.

I personally like B&R....had no problem with the comdeic aspect of it. But that's just me.

For me it's about originality. They already went there with the 60's show, so why retread the same old thing?

I don't mind reboots, but if they came out the same then what is the point. That was my biggest problem with The Amazing Spider-man, it was pretty good, but I felt I was re-watching some of the exact sequences from the first movie.

Yes, Catwoman was good. She's not enough to lift the movie was a whole though, but I agree that it ties well into the first movie and it's just my personal opinion about things that makes it a bad movie for me.

I actually liked the sequel better, but I guess that it was mainly because I went in with such completely different expectations. The fact that I saw some glimpses of the real Doom in that character was probably enough to put it past the first, but things like Galactus were really just as bad as what the first movie did, if not worse.

Yep, agree. I've seen some excellant movies that I'm in no hurry to watch again. There are other movies that are considered average that I watch many times a year.

Same here. Often times I see a great movie that I have no gripes with, but I have no urge to see again anytime soon. And then there are these average films as you said that I pop the DVD in and play even when I do something else. They bring a good feeling, and that to me is the most important thing.

There have been comic book or novels turned into movies that have hurt me too. I finished watching them...some to never watch again (or watch again several decades later).

Count of Monte Cristo almost hurt me, and I still disliked it, but not on the same level as DBE. I was a bit open-minded about the Count, although it's my favorite book of all time, and I knew they can't fit the book into a 2-hour movie, but it still didn't help and I still didn't like it. I think these books work better as mini-series anyway.

When I try to explain this to others I like to use "Raging Bull" and "Goodfellas". For me, "Raging Bull" might be the perfect film, but it is hard to watch. It stirs emotions in me that I don't really like. So I have probably seen it a half a dozen times. "Goodfellas" is not quite as incredible (still completely awesome though), but has infinitely more watchablity for me. Watch it at least 5 times a year.

Schindler's List is also in that category. But often times there are movies that people find hard to watch twice, but then you like watching again and again. Shame was one of those movies that I heard people found hard to watch, but I had no problem watching it a few times and still loving it.

I have only watched a half dozen or so episodes of any Dragon Ball series...so anything out of continuity wouldn't bother me. I have a copy of the movie, but haven't took time to watch it yet.

It's not just the continuity problems or anything like that. As I said before, I have no problem with re-imagining, changes to the characters and stories, remakes and so forth. I always encouraged it. People gave me hard time for liking aspects from the Ultimate Marvel universe better than the original, but I still stand by what I like.

The thing with DBE is that it's a bad movie in every aspect. The ridiculous story, unconvincing characters, actors and dialogues, unacceptably bad effects everything as a whole... It's a big mess and for me it really wasn't worth watching the whole film, but I did it anyway. At the end it made me feel like digging into a pile of **** in order to find a piece of chocolate - even if I found one, it's still covered and smells like ****, so what's the point? :funny:

Even Catwoman?!

I think the only movie I've walked out of a theater for was Haunted Mansion (Eddie Murphy). I usually sit through bad movies if I paid for it...TV or DVD however I have stopped 1/4 or half way through many, haha

I'm not a critic...but I love movies. I have sat through a lot of bad movies. Sure, I could have turned the DVD player off at any time, but I watch them all the way through anyway. I watch to see if there is anything good in it. There have been terrible movies with one decent actor of special effect that makes you say - at least someone tried. You never know when a gem will show up.

I find it highly enjoyable too. Not everything has to be serious. Being goofy is needed some times to save the sanity.

That's great. You have now shown to me that you are different from so many other posters on here with your mindset. Anytime you want to discuss movies, let me know.

I don't really give numerical rating much either. I also have a hard time with the idea of "What's your favorite movie?" Usually if someone asks that, I have to answer in what genre, or director, or actor, etc......

 my friends joke about me being a 'film fanatic' and its why I feel sorry for my friends if they happen to drag me along to a place such as 'HMV' :funny:

I do give numerical numbers, but prefer sumarising what I like or love about that movie, I think it gives someone else a much better idea whether they'll like it or not/ or want to go see it then just a number as everyone rates a movie differently. A 6 to me could be a 10 to someone else.

I also find it really hard to answer whats my favourite movie, as I watch so many it tends to change pretty constantly, and yeah it also depends, as I wouldn't put my favourite CBM movie in the same category as any other movie, like The Dark Knight is one of my favourite CBM's, but its not my favourite movie etc. I also rate movies differently too as in 'is it a well made move?' based on writing, acting, cinematography, etc. and then 'how enjoyable was it for me?'

You should

Blah, blah, blah.

We're all gonna see the movie in 3 days anyway. Either you have some interesting information (which you don't) or you don't (you don't)...so just say it or move on.

No point in trying to bait people this late in the game. I mean, really...

A mid-credits scene in the US release?

I can see them adding a post-credits scene in the US release if they have a mid-credits scene already (like Avengers), but the other way around..?

I went to see it in the UK, and there is only one end-credits (not mid) at the very end.

(that's also hardly worth staying for imo but whatever)

I know what it is, and in the entire context of the movie it's actually pretty funny.

The mid-credit scene for the U.S release features
Peter Parker!
You heard it here first!

If that's true, then YES! Happiness. If not... :argh:

I was the one person on here that let you know Thanos was in the mid-credits scene for the Avengers a whole month in advance.
You're welcome for the heads up.
Here's a description of the scene
A man is shown from behind, he is wearing a hoodie and snapping photos of what seems to be the remains of the battle of NY seen in the Avengers finale. He snaps a photo of a dead Chitauri lying on the ground.
A man, whom appears to be a SHIELD agent, approaches the man and tells him he can't be in this area. The man turns revealing actor Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker), he gives a smirk to the man (audience). Fade to black.

ditto there will be a shaming and burning if you are trolling, we will sick C. Lee on you!

C.Lee knows from prior news I've shared that I never troll.

You're welcome for the heads up, have a nice day and enjoy the news!

Sounds like a cool scene.

What would be even more interesting than seeing this scene is the learning how Sony and Marvel worked this out! haha

Yeah, it sure would... If it is true, this is huge.

3 movies I'll probably never watch again because I hated them so much:

1. Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds
2. What's Eating Gilbert Grape?
3. Watchmen

3 movies I could have my DVD player and TV stuck on replay and never get sick of:

1. Pineapple Express
2. The Lion King
3. The Dark Knight Rises (just for Bane mostly)

I don't know why but those 6 just stick with me haha.
