Why would Tony still let Rhodey have the suit if he's gonna be a puppet for the military ? Wouldn't he take it back ? Is that even Rhodey in that armor ?

It's not like Tony has a real choice.
At the end of IM2, Rhodey *told* Tony he was taking the suit, and Stark replied no, to which Rhodey shot back: "It wasn't a question."
The military has definitely commandeered the Mk II. Tony can sue and ***** all he wants, but there's no way he's going to win against the freakin' US military.

Stark had a failsafe system in the suit, so if he wanted to stop Rhodey from taking it then he would have. If Tony wanted it back, he could get it back.

Agreed. The new colors are nice, but this armor design could work so much better with the traditional War Machine colors.

One of the reasons it doesn't work very well now is because of the unbalance of colors, mainly in the arms. There's waaay to much red in the gauntlets and the upper arms, and the random bits of silver are bad as well.

Really, The war machine armor suffers from the same problems the Mark XLVI does.

Great designs, but with horrid color choices. These looks (color wise) could have been phenomenal, but the execution is, overall, average.

Definitely right about the imbalance of colors, I notice it more in set pics than I do in that pic.

Yup Rhodey just took custody of the suit. I think he wanted to as well just in case Tony ever gets out of control again as a drunk.

Yeah, like Cherokee said, if Tony really didn't want Rhodey to have the suit, then he could have done something about it a long time ago; this is mentioned and revealed in Tony's talk with Fury at the Donut shop.

I think Tony was planning on giving that to Rhodes in the case, which appeared very likely to Stark at the time, that he had died from that disease that he had a result from his first arc reactor in his chest.

On another note, I can't help but feel that a reference will be brought up regarding Captain America when Tony sees the armor since it's so hard not to think about Captain America at first when looking at that armor for some casual viewers.

I think the movie should end with the classic Demon in bottle cover ,things getting real for tony he losing everything even the girl and looks to the bottle at the end of the movie . Becoming more like his father in his final days .

That would be a real downer. Even DIAB didn't end like that.

If Tony is smart, given his pretty clear decision to ultimately let Rhodes ( and thus the military ) have the Mk 2 suit, he can use that to gain further leverage. They have the suit, after all, but they don't have all of Tony's technical know-how that went into making the suit. They can do their best to figure out how to maintain and upgrade and reverse engineer the suit themselves, or they can make nice with Tony.

I suspect something of a deal results: Tony gives them limited consulting to help them better use and understand the Mk II suit, and the Pentagon doesn't harass him so much about his own Iron Man activities. Possibly unstated is "if you do stuff with my tech I strongly disapprove of, the information and support pipeline shuts off."

That was actually me.

Actually, it was Sabbath/Ozzy and AC/DC in *both* Iron Man movies. I'd expect more of the same for IM3.

WAR PIGS! DIRTY DEEDS!
make it so, Ensign

There was Queen in IM2 too. Stark's got great taste in music.

Just needs some Iron Maiden. :woot:

so will firepower and cold-blood and firepower have suits in this one?

has this been seen yet? i know the im pic isn't new but the war machine art?

subbing in. really interested to see how this movie turns out.

Not a fan of applying the Iron Patriot livery to the new WM, not at all!

agreed. The Iron Patriot armor is a propaganda tool. It's meant to say "We're America, and we have the best weapons".

That iron man suit looks horrible.

Seriously, let that stay to norman osbourne. Hopefully he goes black and grey at the end. And I don't like the ironman suit either. I mean, maybe since it is extremis, they are trying to make it look different, but I always thought it was ugly, just didnt wanna be the first to say it lol. Too much gold.WAY too much

Hmmm I actually like the Iron Man suit, it took me awhile to get used to it though.

If the Extremis armor appears, it should have the triangular chest piece and such O:

I just pray to Lucas that POS golden armour isn't Extremis.

I hope the Gold Armor, Iron Patriot War Machine, and the 40 drones aren't the only new armors in this film d:
