These new details change very little for me. I really just want to see what Joaquin will look like

I don't want this movie but the article says this -

"Again, that’s JUST A THEORY. For all we know Franklin could be his father or his father could be another character who is irrelevant to the story,"

Even if the idea that they’re half brothers is wrong, just the mere idea that The Joker has a mother who is obsessed with Thomas Wayne is horrible. Just, just horrible.

The Joker connects to Batman... not Bruce Wayne, for reasons which any self respecting Batman fan should know.

This smacks of them not being allowed to use Batman directly, so they have to go with a Wayne angle.

And people gave Gotham sh**... lol

They literally just did this with Blofeld and everyone thought it was dumb then.

Still cracking up over Ben Art Fleck

The WB/DC ride truly never ends, does it

They can't be serious with this. CANNOT.

We all know that the half brother thing is just a theory posed by the writer of this article, right? It's a little weird to blame a fan theory on WB.

As for the rest of the stuff, if true, it doesn't really change much. The thing about DeNiro playing the TV host was out there already and we knew a talkshow would be one of the set pieces. The stuff about Thomas Wayne could be fun, to see him as more of a ********.

As I say, trying to create a personal link between Bruce Wayne and The Joker Of any kind is a terrible, terrible idea.

It’s grade school characterisation. It’s what writers do when they can create no compelling reason for protagonist and antagonist to be in conflict with one another. It’s a lazy, stupid way to engage emotional depth in the conflict.

It never, ever works.

The Joker is Batman’s enemy. Not Bruce Wayne’s, or Thomas Wayne’s. This is Batman 101 stuff here, folks.

This movie is going to try oh-so-hard to add ‘depth’ to The Joker, and all they’ll do is reduce his impact and uniqueness down to nothing.

The personal link is a theory from the writer. The bit about Joker's mother being obsessed with her former employer comes from the character descriptions released in June, and Thomas Wayne being in the film is nothing new either.

I really need The Guard and Batfreak to show up and tell me why this half-brother thing is a great idea, if it's true.

The Fast & Furious franchise is so successful because it's about FAMILY. Therefore Joker needs to be about family in order to be successful.

In all seriousness, if the trailer comes out and there's a birth certificate in it that says ARTHUR WAYNE, then I'll join you guys in saying this is stupid :funny: Until then it's just a theory based on old info.

I'm afraid to say this around here, but I actually did like how they did it in the Telltale Series.

The Thomas Wayne stuff makes it sound as though Batman doesn't exist in the universe, and never will. Thomas Wayne being alive and in his sixties would put Bruce in his thirties or twenties. Unless we are to assume that Thomas is still cranking out kids at his age, which isn't unheard of I suppose.

Batman: I don't have enemies. I have family.

Batman: I am vengeance, I am the night... I AM FAMILY!

I can't wait for the scene at the end where Bruce, Dick, Selina, Gordon, Barbara and the Joker sit down for dinner and Bruce introduces everyone to his son Jason.

(At that point, the Joker looks down at his shoes and mumbles, "Well, this is awkward...")

Bruce Wayne was orphaned at 35 years old:o

Dialogue between Batman and Joker:

"I'll never join you! You killed my brother!!"
"No, I am your brother!"
"That's not true! That's impossible!"

For the most part, they're pretty reliable. They often report character details for Movies/TV shows and they turn out to be true.

The only times they were wrong I think where when they claimed Frances MacDonald joined Kong vs Godzilla and those Mortal Kombat script details, and even that was from an earlier script.
They messed up with Shazam also. Davis S. Samberg called them out for it.
