How about Liguizamo as Luigi Mario doing an impression of Leto's Joker?
Win.

I'm not THAT enthusiastic about The Joker being used as a pawn unless he screws them over later on for underestimating himI can see the finale scene of the Batman, in Arkham, with Hugo Strange talking with Gordon, telling him how his patients are obsessed by the bat, adding there are more crazy people since Batman exists. Teasing a sequel adapting Arkham Asylum.
Arkham Asylum from the great Grant Morrison is one of the Batman classic storyline who has never been adapted in movie. I can see the sequel taking inspiration from this one, mixed with Prey (and so Hugo Strange as the villain). A behind close door movie who question Batman sanity and morality. We could see the joker of Joaquin Phoenix a lot more chaotic (we never adress what was real in his movie, maybe he was the instigator of the insurrection, maybe it was in his head... (The death of the Wayne was the only real part because it was from Bruce POV) Maybe he was 20 at this time), used as a pawn by Strange.
By anyone do you include Jared Leto?Anyone but Joaquin Phoenix.
Yes. In fact he would be my #1 choice.By anyone do you include Jared Leto?
Anyone but Joaquin Phoenix.
Not sure if serious...Yes. In fact he would be my #1 choice.
Maybe he deserves a chance at a better Joker. Not sure if serious...
I'm surprised people still need more Joker after TDK and Joker solo...
I'd prefer it to be something less obligatory (because he's Joker!) and more creative, fresh. Basic confrontation was done twice. We also have an experimental solo now. It needs to be something else. I'd want Harley and Joker done justice (like Arkham centered story with Harley helping Joker escape), but I feel this idea was botched by SS and BoP.TDK was twelve years ago and Joker was a man named Arthur Fleck who’s The Joker for like ten minutes at the end of the movie.
Plus doing a Batman trilogy without including The Joker at some point is like Superman with no Luthor. He doesn’t have to be in this movie, but if Reeves is doing a full trilogy, it’d feel weird to have The Joker entirely absent.
Anyone but Joaquin Phoenix.
I said a better Joker, not a better performance.Even then, I'm pretty sure he's not playing the role again.
It's not like his performance in SS was solely David Ayer's fault either.

Ridiculous. Clown by day, failed stand up comedian by night. Becomes the Joker, causes chaos in Gotham City. But sure, he’s just a brand new character and they wanted to sell tickets.Joaquin gave a great performance. He's a superb actor. But Arthur Fleck is not the Joker. He's a generic mad man who put on clown makeup to sell more tickets to a movie no one would have seen otherwise.
The filmmaker himself is pretty upfront about it:Ridiculous. Clown by day, failed stand up comedian by night. Becomes the Joker, causes chaos in Gotham City. But sure, he’s just a brand new character and they wanted to sell tickets.
It's still Joker. The filmmaker himself is pretty upfront about it:
“I literally described to Joaquin at one point in those three months as like, ‘Look at this as a way to sneak a real movie in the studio system under the guise of a comic book film’. It wasn’t, ‘We want to glorify this behavior.’ It was literally like ‘Let’s make a real movie with a real budget and we’ll call it f–ing Joker’. That’s what it was.” - Todd Phillips
