Fortunately, the leaked image looks a lot better than this to me.

If the final design is even close to this, there's absolutely NO chance this film gets a dime from me.

Oh, I'm taking it with a massive grain of salt. I've seen weirder concept art that was legit, though. Legit concept art for Fox films has included Sentinels that looked like they were from Neon Genesis Evangelion, a demon Ozaru (that almost made it into DBE), and Elektra with a completely see through top (apparently that concept artist was a bit of a perv).

The artist who posted this knows nothing of the Thing.

But then again, maybe that's a good thing. If this ends up close to what the new movie has, and if the rights to FF do eventually go back to Marvel, it will make it easier to distance themselves from this garbage.

Yep. I realize it's probably a small thing to the yahoos making this film, but The Thing has three fingers. Period, done, no further discussion required.

While I'm fairly confident this isn't the final design, I do think some elements of this could be incorporated into the final design. Some of the textures of this image do resemble some of the textures of the leaked image.

From the start I've felt that if they get The Thing right and get Doom right, they can get away with screwing a lot of other things up, but I suspect they're going to screw up even those two, key details.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is real simply as it would continue the trend of every bit of information that comes out about the film is from sources other than Fox themselves. We have had script leaks, leaks photos, even the new synopsis only happened because RT got hold of a copy and posted it. Who knows when they would have released it otherwise. So the look of Ben Grimm going public due to it being found on an artists site would be in keeping with the rest of the production.

The characters well only look a little like the comic. Hence the different dimension, cast and crew not looking at the comics etc. so why wouldn't he have more fingers and the leaked pic he looked brown with green eyes. The heads are the same, so it's very possible that this is the concept, but perhaps not the final concept, but the concept none the less.

Holy mother of ****ing. First off, this looks like a Rob Liefeld drawing with the tiny head and waist contrasting with the giant shoulders and pecs. Liefeld anatomy is never, ever a good idea and he's reviled as an artist for a reason.

Secondly, the Thing isn't green. Depending on the artist, he's either orange or brown. He's supposed to look dusty. Here he looks radioactive.

Also, his face is off. Thing has a caveman brow and an underbite that are far more pronounced than they are here. This pic has his features smushed together. Thing also has blue eyes, they're glowing green here. Thing's eyes are meant to be expressive and a remnant of his humanity, not otherworldly.

Thing also doesn't have a six pack, he has a gut and he's not a hunchback. That hump on his back needs to be removed since Ben has next to no neck. Pen's pecs merge seamlessly with his pronounced gut. Thing is supposed to resemble a sumo wrestler, not a bodybuilder.

Bens's legs also look too long here. He lacks toes and Thing has never run around naked since he still has a... you know. He's always had pants on for that reason.

This pic is not Thing. At the very least, he's not any incarnation of Thing that I know of. This should be grounds for a lawsuit from Marvel since this is not the character who Fox leased from them.

Anyone remember 3 Dev Adam? If this pic is real, then that movie is more faithful to the source material than this. Between this concept art and the leaked Doctor Doom screen, I feel like it's fair to say that the costuming department should never work on another adaptation ever. This is like a terrible fanfic right now.

The only thing that gives me hope is the target render. If that's being scrapped in favor of this abortion in post-production, then Fox should do no trailer, not screen this for critics and then give it a limited release in a handful of theaters before sending it straight to video, then sell the rights back to Marvel.

I'm inclined to think if that's not bogus then it's concept art that was not used...Well, not entirely at any rate. There are definitely strong resemblances in the shaping of the rock formations to the bust.

What is clearly different is this designs lop sided face and the shiny glass/marble effect they used for his 'hide'.

Either way, Fox should confirm or deny this. I don't mean, "Doctor Doom has his helmet from the comics with armor like Master Chief's" without any official image like they did last time through a third party. Fox need to communicate with fans better. They need to encourage the cast to do more interviews, they need to get Trank to start Tweeting again. When it comes to bad press, the producers have nobody to blame but themselves.
