Guys holy crap, Fox just released pics of the Fantastic Four suits and Dr. Doom! I gotta say this is quite different from what I expected.

Laugh now but I get the feeling those F4 suits will look very similar to that pic. We already seen Doom who looks like he was wrapped in aluminum foil but that F4, I can almost guarantee isn't to far off.

Unfortunately, you're probably right.

Seems legit to me. Maybe the Fantastic Four can rent out an RV and use it to hide out in the middle of the New Mexican desert.

Nah, the F4 suits won't be blue (not a realistic enough colour) plus there's no way they'll have the logo on them. It's not like they are superheroes or anything.

Just four kids and a blogger, you know, hanging out, dealing with disabilities.

And you'll find out what happens when one of them stops being polite...and starts getting real...

...gritty and realistic.

As we have seen from the enormous financial failures of movies like The Avengers, Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor, the movie going public isn't willing to accept the concept of super-heroes in super-hero costumes.

It's a shame.

What could have been, eh?

Ah well.

Hopefully Trank, praise Him, will deliver us from this outpouring of fun, awesome, faithful superhero movies that have failed MASSIVELY and give us the gritty, realistic, kids-dealing-with-disabilities "Fantastic" Four comic book movie we all so desperately need.

We really need to have a day of Tranksgiving, expressing our unending gratitude for his "lo-fi, gritty" take on the Fantastic Four that fans have always been clamoring for.

Tranksgiving is, unfortunately, a holiday that can only be celebrated in Colorado, Washington, and soon in Alaska. It's also a bit on the expensive side, as the property damage and the growing cost of consumables really hurts the ol' pocketbook.

Hold on, Can we all agree Tranksgiving be on 4/20 ? I think it suits the date for an occasion like that ;)

Tranksgiving :lmao:

Yep,may he deliver us from the bitter bondage of accuracy to the source material that has plagued us lo these many years.

You'll need to partake of the typical Tranksgiving feast to really feel the spirit of the holiday. Perhaps the traditional darker more grounded Domashev Delight is in order?

If FFINO comes out and has a mediocre run, but Fox still retains the rights and tries to reboot the series in 7 years time, what are they going to say about this current film and how their new film will be different and much better than this?

And of course, if they talk about how the grounded and gritty approach didn't work, then they're obviously admitting that they made a mistake and it wasn't the right thing to do at all.

The Antman teaser was underwhelming to me and i expected more. The GOTG teaser was too and a lot of other films and the were good. I've learned not to 2nd guess Marvel after GOTG. Their was a movie where nothing looked interesting and i came down on Marvel hard and i too cried that it would flop and boy was I wrong.

Ant-Man has attracted 29 million global views since it debuted last Tuesday.
According to Marvel, that’s a higher figure than the trailer premiere for last year’s Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s a higher number of views than was garnered by the trailers for any Marvel film, excluding Iron Man 3 and the most recent Avengers clip.
Yeah I wouldn't bet against Marvel at this moment in time. It doesn't mean everyone who watched the trailer is going to see the film but it does show there is at least some curiosity and interest in it.

I'm so glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read Tranksgiving, I certainly would have choked to death.

I think the overall film landscape is going to look very different in seven years, and I really don't see a third Fox FF franchise gaining support. How the heck do the producers even convince investors that they could make another version successful after multiple failures? Fox had one chance to make a standalone FF franchise successful, and they gave that chance to this film. All signs point to the industry moving to big event films and smaller fare (that will probably be VOD). If a grounded, gritty take fails they won't try a cheap version again (so VOD would be out), and it would be hard to justify funding yet another reboot (so making it an event film would prove difficult).

The Fantastic Four will just become a running gag in the Fox studio. They will do the bare minimum to retain the film rights just to get a good laugh at Marvel.

You guys think Trank and the others let the talk of this movie sucking bother them? Other than Miles Teller, has anyone else said anything about this movie other than the usual gritty and grounded crap?

People with Foxholm Syndrome will have trouble going cold turkey on Tranksgiving Day.

I don't think there has been any other word on this film. Maybe the bad reactions to this movie bothers them, I don't know. At the end of the day they still get their paychecks.

Honestly, yeah, and I feel a little bad when I let my frustration get the better of me.

They're real people and nobody likes hearing other people bad-mouth something that they put a lot of effort into.

But it's probably easier to brush it off at this point - when we don't really know much about it and aren't talking about real details. It will sting more when we're talking about more specific things.

I thought Toby Kebbel sounded a little uncomfortable with his now infamous interview and it probably stung a little for him to see how people reacted after it. It's probably difficult for him to separate our criticism of the bad decisions the studio is making from personal criticism of him.

I don't even blame Trank. I feel like even if he has a half-assed vision of what he FF should be, it's less his fault than the higher-ups who green-lighted his project. They're the ones who gave him the power to screw this up.

This movie just sounds like what was originally the possible script for Chronicle 2. Just insert FF characters and Micheal B Jordan. Truth be told I would be more interested in this film if it was Chronicle 2.
