Miles Teller interview over at Digital Spy.

http://www.digitalspy.com/movies/news/a604636/

The only thing that bothered me besides him playing off not wanting to discuss Fantastic Four movie in general at the beginning of the interview was when he states at the end that the whole Superhero world is a completely different animal. Say what? Other then that though, I think he did a pretty good job at handling the situation under the circumstances.

My favorite part is that he has no confidence in his ability to lead a superhero movie (the bit about not doing Spider-Man because the whole film would be on his shoulders). Nice to know our Mr. Fantastic has no confidence in his ability to lead a superhero film. :o

Did he get plastic surgery or something for some reason he looks so different to me in that interview

And Im not going to hold those comments and seeming lack of faith against him. Im sure lots of actors have had reservations like that before.

Coming across as having reservations after the project has filmed is generally not a good sign.

But yeah, he does look a bit different. He tried to grow a little facial hair. Maybe he was tired of people comparing his looks to Rachel Maddow.

The Thing has made appearances in all 3 animated series at this point, so I don't think that's the issue there at all.

Disney 2.0 is clearly taking it's Marvel characters from the MCU and Animated universe, but it's sticking with the featured characters, and not the one-offs. I think the real test will be to see if they introduce Dr. Doom as a playable character - he's been featured as a major antagonist in the latest animated Avengers series.

I do. If you don't have a role in the MCU or animated shows like you said, then your clearly not getting a role. If 3 members of the 4, and pretty much all the X-Men don't exist in that universe then they have a less likely chance at showing up as playable characters then characters Disney are willing to have on their shows.

Do WarMachine, Ant Man, Wasp, Daredevil, Black Panther or Ms Marvel even have playable characters? If your not main Avengers, Ultimate SPidey or GOTG then more then likely your not getting characters right now it seems. It's pretty much only their animated shows. Don't know why the F4 would be expected here other then possibly The Thing and Doom as you mentioned, but even then there are clearly chracters they focus on more who would have the upperhand.

Every single one of those characters you mentioned has some sort of role in the game.

To be fair, I'm assuming you're referring to Carol as Ms. Marvel, and Daredevil's not in it himself. There's a mention of Hell's Kitchen, though, and in the MU that's pretty much a DD reference since that's not really a place in real life anymore.

YOu can't purchase one of their characters, those are extrmely limited to what I mentioned. Pretty much to only main cartoon characters. Unless there's something Im unaware of.

If you can't even buy the ones they use often and are getting pushed heavily by Disney, then why the heck would the F4 be there?

This is a game that's completely under the Disney name. Not Marvels.

There's a limit to how many characters they can release (they're also putting out Disney characters, so there aren't many slots), but they all have some level of importance to the game. Carol, Rhodey, and Ant-Man do have toys for the game (power discs that summon them as assists), and Black Panther's Vibranium daggers can also be put into the game as a weapon with a disc.

I'm sure they have some sort of limit, and if they are still npc's and taking the back seat then I don't see why people are shocked. This is clearly cartoon and Disney channel centered. Which is why there is a White Tiger disc as well.

If either the Baxter building got brought up in discussion, Sue Storm had a weapon Disc or Thing was an npc would everyone be happy? Is it just throwing them a bone, or actually making them a part of the universe? Out of all the things Disney is to leave them out of at the moment this clearly makes the most sense other then their films. Characters like the ones I mentioned and Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Doc Strange, Elektra, Kamala, Taskmaster and Vision among many others are more then likely gonna take priority in the future as playable characters and focus over them. Not difficult to see why.

Chris Evans had doubts about jumping in to the Steve Rogers role which to be fair is on a whole other level but to our benefit he made the right choice. :)

Oh I agree - the main focus of their character inclusions are primary characters from the MCU and current animated series.

The focus of the first iteration of Infinity relied on Pixar favorites, plus current popular movie and animated tv characters. It included Pirates of the Carribbean, Lone Ranger, even Maleficent. The only 'classic' Disney character released in wave 1 was Mickey (at least so I can recall off the top of my head).

They are definitely targeting characters that have a current presence in the minds of kids from 5 to 15 or so - so unless there's a strong current media tie - they aren't getting the attention.

Not hard to figure out that the next wave of Marvel Infinity characters will get you Ant-Man, Black Panther, Captain Marvel and some collection of Inhumans - depending on the timing of the next wave.

With enough Primary characters to go around, secondary characters and guest appearance characters would naturally fall to the wayside.

So while this may hint at an anti-FF, anti-X bias, there's no way you could actually say that that's the sole reason for them not appearing in the game.

It's a pretty big reason as far as Disney Infinity goes. If they had major roles in the current Disney channel shows, that would be a different story.

I think the bigger issue is them being left out there, and why that is.

It's still not a good look when you're rebooting a franchise that deserves redemption.

To me it's that he's thinner which in turn makes him look older.

the only playable marvel characters thus far are from Film, and Ultimate spider-man cartoon. that's it.

Avengers:
-Cap
-Widow
-Hulk
-Hawkeye
-Ironman
-Thor
(soon to be available)
-Loki
-Falcon

Guardians of the Galaxy:
-Rocket
-Groot
-Starlord
-Gamora
-Drax
(soon to be available)
-Yondu
-Ronan

Ultimate Spider-Man:
-Spider-Man
-Venom
-Iron Fist
-Nova
-Nick Fury
(soon to be available)
-Green Goblin

That's it thus far... no fantastic four, no X-men, not even characters from the Hulk cartoon

the next likely playable additions will be any of these (Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Vision, Ultron, Antman, Wasp, Black Panther, Wintersoldier)

Gotcha, thought so. Thanks for the list.

Lol, I hope you're not serious?

]I hope Ant-Man is good. I will definitely see it opening weekend. If the film delivers, I think buying another ticket on the weekend of Foxtastic Four is a fantastic idea![/B] Just think - a superhero movie that's actually about family. (Scott/Cassie Lang and Hank Pym/Hope Van Dyne - a potentially intriguing story about fathers and daughters - count me in).

I'm so there! I hope AntMan out performs F4 on F4's opening weekend just to say F you to Fox and what they've done.

Maybe 10-15 years ago. Not today.

Hell, even Jennifer Lopez wants to play a superhero now. It's good potential franchise work that pays A LOT and has a built in fan base. Actors are dying for roles.

Never mind that he said this was the reason he joined the movie in the first place

"combination of director Josh Trank (Chronicle) and sharing the limelight with an ensemble cast"

Really says a lot about the quality of the project when what amounts to the lead actor says he joined it for the director and so that he wouldn't have to have the load all on himself.

And I really do not understand this inexplicable veneration people have for Trank(if it's real and not just smoke blowing). He's directed one 80 minute found footage super power movie. Co-directed according to some things online. And that's it.

Yeah I just don't get it.

you know... i could totally see Jennifer Lopez play White Tiger or Tigra. And she'd probably be fantastic in the roles.

I also wouldn't mind the racial fudge-ing and have her play Jessica Drew either.

It really, really does. OMFG, does it ever. It says tons!

I remember at the Spider-Man 3 premiere, the main cast was interviewed after screening the film. You could see the actors all hated the movie.

Interviewer: What was your favorite part of the movie?
James Franco: Um... when I was doing the twist.

-_-

I was reading that Kinberg is now expected to take over as the writer on the Gareth Edwards Star Wars standalone, interesting since he was expected to be the writer on the Trank standalone. I wonder if that changes anything or if Lucasfilm will want him to write both since I would think that their are writers that would kill to get a Star Wars film.
