The Dark Knight The Man Who Laughs: The Joker Thread 2.0

who doesn't?

But from one Batman fan to another, you like The Batman?

Tim Sale likes The Batman (character designs, at least), so I suppose there is no shame in it.

I watched the first season and it took me a while to even swallow the character designs. The production value was pretty good and same with the voice acting, but overall it felt like a TAS light, which I didn't care for.

I liked Robin's design, I liked most of the character designs except for the Joker and the Batmobile.

Ya, I don't mind a fantastical element, but I think The batman just ran away with it and I didn't care for that.

Nah Clayface is suppose to be like that, but I am thinking of like that multiple men or whatever his name is. I actually think the fantasy part I am thinking about is more in the later seasons like when the JLA joined the adventures. I think I really hated Bane, Mr. Freeze and all these DCU villains that made appearances.

i think "the batman" is a disgrace to the batman universe. dont get me started on the Joker in that shoddy series. i caught a episode the other day where he was turned into some Hulk or Bane type thing, it was the stupidest fooking thing i have ever seen. the whole purpose of that show is to make little kids think "WOW!!" and beg their parents to buy them the toys.

More pictures of The Joker thanks to Andre@s

the first one owns as well...but that second one is amazing!

" I would have never thought that playing a comic book character like the Joker would force me to explore the darker and more somber aspects of my personality. I tried to make the character as disturbing and as terrifying as possible. It was very exciting and also a little unsettling. I tried to give something personal and unique to this monstruous character. The part called for me to disguise myself. For the scene when I'm dressed up as a nurse, I took some inspiration from what Marlon Brando did in Arthur Penn's Missouri Breaks in which he played a bounty hunter (who spends some time in women's clothing), in a very comedic way."

Rougly translated from a french movie magazine called Studio which interviewed Heath as he was promoting "I'm not there at the Venice Film Festival. I had never read that quote before (specially the Brando reference) and thought it was worth translating for my fellow hypesters.

That bodybag picture is probably one of the best Joker images we've seen. I wonder if he killed Gambol because he disliked him or because Gambol was the only one sensible enough to see what The Joker really was.

probably both of those and a multitude of other reasons

Joker's reaction was pretty obvious when Gambol put a hit out for him... he was pissed.
That was a pretty good reason.

true question, but i really wouldnt see joker getting upset about a hit on him....in the scene, it barely phases him, he doesnt even acknowledge it

Just really realised he doesn't say 'Ill Show Ya', in the interregation scene does he?

i noticed when Gambol was putting the hit out on him it cuts to the Joker quickly and he like points at Gambol and gives him this dodgy stare. I think Joker decided right then and there Gambol will not be a part of his "plan".

He had no choice IMO, if someone put a hit out for you, it's either him or you, you gotta take action...

hahaha yea fo' real!! and Gambol was the only mob boss who was vocal about wanting nothing to do with Joker, whereas the Chenchan seemed to respect him, note his little impressed glance to Gambol after the magic trick.

Yeah, it was cool how the chechen became obviously impressed by the Joker after the magic trick.
I also love how Lau turns the camera off and of course that dead serious look on the Joker's face as he exits the meeting. He looks very scary there (no more jokes).
Imo, that scene is one of the greatest character entrance in the history of cinema.

Total QIA:yay: The laugh, the trick, the speech. Everything just perfect:hehe:

Perfection indeed. That slow laugh is so great, I wonder who came up with the idea, Heath or one of the Nolans (is it mentionned in the script ?) I suppose they had to extend the laugh to give time to Heath to enter the meeting and maybe decided to slow it down instead of the more traditional Joker cackle or hysterical laugh (which we get perfectly rendered by Heath later on). Anyway, imo it's pure magic and really shows how the Joker is mocking these guys.
