The Dark Knight The Man Who Laughs: The Joker Thread 2.0

Case in point -

Because no one will be able to replicate Heath's amazeing portrayal.
He'll be amazing, but that doesn't mean someone could do a different take on the character and make it even better.

Heath will be good for a Nolan Joker, but I would like to see a Joker thats more accurate to the looks of the character.

Plus, you haven't even seen the movie, for all you know he could blow. Now, I know it doesn't look that way, but don't always be so positive about things your not exactly sure of just yet.:cwink:

I don't think Nolan would cast someone else, tell them to do a completely different take, then change the look of the character.

That would kill any continuity. What if Nolan had recast a fat blonde girl in place of Katie Holmes?

Actually, I tend to think that "killing the continuity" is probably the only way that we could succesfully have The Joker in part three. I think that an attempt to copy Heath's apparently highly personal and nuanced performance could be a disaster, given that it is likely to be seen as his epitaph. Perhaps some radical changes to the character, with Batman and Gordon pondering whether this is the same man at all, would likely be more satisfying. It would even be interesting if it was insinuated that they were not, though it would enrage the fanboy in me.

I wouldn't even go that far. If Nolan could end this movie with the Joker disappearing with no definitive answer if he is alive or dead would be the best way to go, IMO. It would be really hard for me to see another actor portray the Joker in a Nolan Batman film.

Unfortunately, the Joker is a huge draw for the casual and non-casual Batman fan. The box office might suffer some without him in the film.

As I've said before, I like what they've done with The Joker, but you know what I really want to see on screen?

This guy.

Either lock him away in Arkham Asylum or (it pains me to say this) kill him off.

I really don't want a recast.

i say keep him in small scenes in arkham in pt 3 or just make refrences to him
and then if they must return him return him for the fourth installment

No recasting. 3rd end of the trilogy. No more joker after dark knight.

cut a scene from TDK with the Joker in it. Then place it in the third movie.

I like the idea/rumour of having Joker in the asylum and just have a brief scene with him and Bats, with Joker totally in shadow. There's bound to be one good voice actor out there for the job.

HAHAHA! I don't see how that could work. Maybe they could just put the Joker in it, CGI style. They could use his voice too.

There's no point to it though. What would be the significance of one little scnee?

CGI is terribly obvious and looks it too.

It could work if they have stock footage of the Joker doing something then they create a story around that then use a shemp or double for distant shots so you can't really see him. Example if it is a scene of Joker just talking to the goons you can have the goons performing a robbery with another goon that wasn't in the shot before implying that it was the Joker and have him just get away. Simple.

Way I heard it was Bats needed some information on the underground, or something like that. So he needed Joker to give him a name or a place or something.

That would require a lot more than a simple cameo, you'd practically need another actor for that.

If it's very little info, then they can scrap the idea altogether, if they haven't already.

HAHAHA! I was just joking about the CGI. Hopefully they filmed multiple endings for TDK.

Chris has already said the film will be uncompromised so the chance of him cutting out a scene so he can place it in the third movie due to Ledger's passing is very slim.

There still might be footage of deleted scenes that just did not make the cut.

This guy.

Give him a decent tie, the suit from TDKR and I think we'll be in business. Although, to be fair I think that we may get more than we expect in this movie. By the end I do not expect The Joker to look the way he does in the trailers. I think that he'll clean himself up, get a haircut and become a lot more recognisable.

Batman: Comfortable here in Arkham, Joker?

Joker: You've changed things.

Batman: Oh, Joker, you so crazy................................k-bye.

END OF SCENE
