The Dark Knight The Man Who Laughs: The Joker Thread 2.0

Are you sure? Look at the new photo again. It looks like, by the rooftop scene, he's ditched the purple coat, but is still wearing the more bluish-toned jacket.

It's the purple jacket. It's too puffy and the texture is too smooth for it to be his blue coat.

How about when he says "Why so serious?" in the 2nd trailer. He has like what looks like a poncho raincoat on.

i've got a feeling it's part of the

bodybag scene that gained a little controversy a while ago .

Did he specifically say in the movie? Wasn't there, at one time or another, a death of Harvey's fiancee in the comics? Because Eckhart also mentioned, several times, Dent being scarred by acid, and that doesn't seem to be true.

I assume you're talking about the scene in the trailer where Harvey is down on the ground with that supposed gasoline pouring out onto the floor.

Both Eckhart and Roberts have said in interviews that he's scarred by acid and that they've "stayed pretty close to the comics."

Just becuase you see something that they WANT you to see in a trailer doesn't make it what you think it is.

I dunno...that's almost definitely gasoline, and the scarring we've seen looks too crispy and charred, characteristics common of fire victims, to be an acid burn.

I've never seen gasoline that color. It's (gasoline) more of a transparent blueish green unless it's mixed with something.

Looks to me that it's another form of fuel, diesel or kerosene.

Well, some kind of fire accelerant.

But it doesn't seem seem like acid, to me, or else it would have some reaction with Dent's face.

Here's the exact quote from Eckhart:
"The difference between Batman and Two-Face is how far they are willing to go and how they make their point. Otherwise, we're talking about vigilante crime-fighting. That's what Batman is all about. He has a strong sense of justice. And Harvey Dent has an extremely strong sense of justice. His fiancée is killed. He's horribly injured. But he is still true to himself. He's a crime fighter, he's not killing good people. He's not a bad guy, not purely."

He also said this about his scarring:
"I can tell you that, basically, when you look at Two-Face, you should get sick to your stomach. Being the guy under all that, well, that was a lot of fun for me. It's like you would feel if you met someone whose face had pretty much been ripped off or burned off with acid. I can't talk about it beyond that because I don't want to give away too much of the plans by Chris."

I would still put my money on his scarring being attributed to acid in the courtroom.

Take this quote, and add it to the Eric Roberts quote about them staying "pretty close to the comics(which I don't have on me)", and there you go.

I completely agree, TheBatman; plus, if you look at the casting sides, which seem to be fairly acurate, then that all but confirms it.

I know for a fact that there is a "chaotic" courtroom scene where Maroni is on trial. Several of Maroni's henchmen are present as well. If that's not when Dent is scarred then idk what else it could be.

Maybe. I have never actually thought about that before.

The sides have seemed to be pretty accurate so far though. Basically the only real difference between it and the bank robbery scene is that the manager wasn't killed. The barge scenes appear to be the same. Maroni and his mistress(s) is going to be in the movie, the list goes on.

It is a good idea though, and is a possibility.

Would be cool :word:
