The Dark Knight The Man Who Laughs: The Joker Thread 2.0

Adding to my anger... why is it so many fans and pros and the inbetweens insist that Joker is foaming at the mouth insane? He's supposed to be a criminal genius and a bit of a sociopath, otherwise Batman would have no more trouble with him than someone like Mr. Zsasz.
Ya actually I am not a fan of Jeffery Dahmer Joker. I like Joker to be dark and insane but not, I WANT TO EAT YOUR HEAD AND BABIES.

whoa that new tv spot wasnt bad at all. i like the hmm at the end but my fave scene for sure is the fall from the building and landing on the ground, that looked awsome..

Spot on. I do endorse the view that The Joker has no natural limit to the extremity of his behaviour, but the fact is that he is in control of his impulses, and most of his behaviour is not that extreme.

I'm not a fan of those comic pages of the Joker as a bloody serial killer. that's too much for me.

ya it takes away so much from him. The fact that he is creative in means of killing is why I like him. Not that he chops the head off someone and licks the blood. It really just makes him a serial killer that looks different.

See thats where Im different, I love the Joker to be as violent as possible.

yeha me too i like him to be a sick killer but sometimes they take it too far, its cool for him to kill and cut some people up but some incarnations are just way too deranged and it becomes more like a rob zombie movie

in the long run, the Joker should be menacing but there's always a line to draw because he is whimsical at heart.

Ya having him being this kind of butcher takes him down notches to just a killer. He does it with style and showmanship. This incarnation is kind of beneath him.

Someone needs to post that page from Devil's Advocate.

I think this needs to be posted. It explains why the Joker isn't supposed to be just some sloppy serial killer (like Carnage).

hahah Orson Welles of Crime and Chaos
Carnage is the David Hasselhoff

hahaha

Yes.

I do wish they'd include something like his confession to the priest in the film, though.

I wonder, if Nicholson hadn't gotten cast, if Prince would've made an alright Joker.

Hmmm.

In his youth, Robin Williams would have been great.
