The Dark Knight The Man Who Laughs: The Joker Thread 2.0

Off topic, anyone else hoping that maybe at the final showdown jokers wounds will tear open to make a HUGE smile from cheek to cheek? Venom sort of comes to mind while typing this. Also that guy from Pan's Labyrinth, with the similiar wounds. "Chelsea grinn" it's called or something, I don't know. Anyway, I think it would be bad-ass seeing the joker like that

Possibly. Or he may just apply fleshy make up over the white stuff and look incredibly ill and corpse like as a result. But in all the activity no one notices this cop with the discoloured face.

actually in the leaked set pictures, you can see him getting into a car and his hair is still green and there are bits of white and red till on his face, most likely it just fades away into nothing

No... seems like that would be too much.

That's my point. I think the finale will be the darkest, most over the top part of the whole film. Harvey Dent horribly disfigured, the entire city beeing evacuated, and I'm sure the Joker will have a huge role in it all. I was just thinking in terms of "final form" for the villian, like scarecrow in Begins.

The "civilized people will eat each other" part of the trailer really reminded of the kind of Joker thing that I always wanted to see on film - the "philosopher of chaos". That line could have come straight out of The Killing Joke or Arkham Asylum.

hmm been thinking about this recently:

Michael Caine said in an interview that the joker only applies his make up once throughout the movie so i detreiates like his sanity as the movie goes on. If this is true, wouldn't his facial hair be noticeable after a while? very nit picky i know but just thought it was a bit of a flaw.

You have to assume he shaves, just like any other character in a movie. Even if the Joker was perma-white, he would still be able to grow facial hair, but he doesn't, which indicates that he shaves.

But that's just not really the Joker you know? I dont think Nolan will take it that far.

I actually kind of like that idea - Joker does tend to have a rather large grin, y'know. That'd be a nice way to incorporate it. :o

yeah that line was another great affirming moment for this movie. i replayed it three times over and just thought to myself yes wow perfect it gets better with every little bit of reveal

QFT.
I love how they seem to have dug deep inside the character's damaged psyche (each character actually) and that it's not just about the puns (WSS etc..., which I also love btw) and the surface. TDK really feels like the Batman film I've been waiting for all my life. Let's hope it kills at the box office so they don't return the franchise to a lighter tone.

He never takes it off but always puts on more. At least that's what I remember reading.

Heres a great new pic

Looks like the same scene as the leaked pic of joker laughing. Nice pic though!

Lindy Hemming FTW ! I really love how she reinvented the Joker's look but really remained faithful to the color code and the spirit of the character. I hope she gets an oscar (one can always dream:woot:).

This new Joker is more handsome than his predecessors and I think that's cool because the devil should be seductive.
Nolan did with Ledger what Hitchcock did with Perkins in Psycho (Norman Bates in the original book is a fat middle-aged man). Nolan is truly a great director that might very well be in the same league as Hitch some day.

.. that's what Joker said to Batman, which is why he got a PUNCH!!!!!! :p
