The Dark Knight The Man Who Laughs: The Joker Thread 2.0

I thought it was interesting reading that Joker's voice was suppose to be Ledger's take on a "chicago accent". The whole time I was thinking, "that's a cool voice, but is that how we sound in Chicago?"

I think it sounded Mid-Western, yeah, maybe not exactly Chicago. It wasn't that strong.

I dont think a re-cast would be the worst thing in the world, I can't really say I don't have faith in anything Nolan does anymore.

if they do recast, why not have faith in Nolan, you think he would screw up after Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

If he wanted to recast the Joker, im sure Nolan wouldn't disappoint.

thats what im saying! It should be a relatively unknown tho.. the last thing I want to see is Johny Depp playing the joker in the next one.

Regarding a recast, im of the opinion that it will definately happen at some point, esspecially if Nolan leaves after a third. So I think that the inevitable recast should be done by Nolan because at least he knows exactly what would work and we would be given the best possible Joker we could be given. Wether it could be as good as Heath is debatable but like I said Nolan knows best.

Youll never find anyone who will play the joker the same as heath. I thought it was amazing, however I think it is plausable that somebody can bring a great performance of his own. It's like trying to compare Jacks joker and Heaths joker. You can't because they are two different jokers. Does this make any sence?

Actually at time, he sounded like Richard Dreyfuss :woot:

Nolan won't recast the Joker. He wouldn't talk about Heath in such a good way & up & recast him. I'm pretty sure this franchise will be done after a third or fourth movie, and we'll get a new Joker in another decade or so, but never again will we get one as good as Heath Ledger's.

I agree completly

no one could even replaced this joker ..........

it would hard to top this batman movie period lol

I would like to agree, but only time will tell. A year ago, I had mixed feelings on Ledger playing the Joker, but in hindsight the guy nailed it. If Nolan recasts, I'm sure we will get a great performance again.

Depp is a very talented actor and if Nolan believes Depp could do it and casted him then I think we should believe in Nolan.

I am just saying, like everyone else. That whatever Nolan decides to do, like a re-cast, then he is making a good choice and believes it will work, and in the end will be perfect.

You know, and I know this probably won't happen, but I'd like to see what Daniel Day Lewis could do with the role

Did anyone think his voice sounded dubbed the second time he yelled hit me! (after batman yells). Both times I have seen the movie it seems like the voice couldn't be his. For some reason it stuck out for me. Awesome scene though.

The Last Act Between Batman & The Joker at the site (With The Joker hanging upside down on the grappling hook line) Was both epic & Tragic .

The exchanging dialogue between Batman & The Joker by Bale & Ledger clearly set's up the stage for future encounters between these two Iconic figures in their on-going never ending battle . Was Truly Epic .

The Joker: Ohh you. You just couldn't let me go could you? This is what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. You truly are incorruptible aren't you? Huh? You won't kill me out of some misplaced sense of self righteousness. And I won't kill you...cause, you're just too much fun. Hee hee. I think you and I are destined to do this forever.

Batman: You'll be in a padded cell forever!

The Joker: Maybe we can share one! You Know they'll have to double up at the rate this city's inhabitants are losing their minds .

however it's quite tragic because of Ledger's Death . Because will never see another encounter with Bale & Him again .

R.I.P. Heath Ledger you really did go out with a Bang .

Reading your signature Kal-El 8, i can't help but imagine if TDK would be nominated at the oscars and win...that would "change things forever" for comic book movies to come.

I swear When I saw THE JOKER beating Batman with a crowbar , I keep think of Jason Todd death from BATMAN : A DEATH IN THE FAMILY .

Heath Joker is incredibly and just amazing.....I think everybody just about mentioned everything he did already. I love when he escapes from precinct with his goons in the cop cars and he just sticks his head out the window and takes some air with the silent type music (nice camera work too)....It didn't do much for me in the trailer but big scene where Gotham and batman world just took a turn for the worse..the Joker is just taking some cool air after a perfect plan....

And anytime the joker is on screen this eerie music comes on, it sounds like a bunch of alarms. It starts off low then as the scene progress it gets louder!! and thats when you know something is about to happen and the drums come on and everything just happens...man that is awesome I think its called "why so serious" on the soundtrack....

I love the build up to the party as soon the elevator door opens the hard drums come and The joker says "We made it"...heath ledger was legendary!!

Preach it! DDL is probably the only person i would trust. And two things that some other people mentioned. Was that really an apple peeler joker had???lol i didn't even spot that. And secind, yes the hit me line did sound off. It actually looks like his mouth says 'Come on' but we hear 'Hit me.' I was personally bummed we didn't get the hit me line from trailer 2....man, that was intense.

Mike...i totally agree. One of my fav. parts of the film. Just how joker's got goons all around him, and he's holding that shotgun and then..."We made it!" man, Heath was dynamite.
