The Dark Knight The Man Who Laughs: The Joker Thread 2.0

It certainly got me quiet. His performance was really chilling, and even scared me a little. It kind of messed with my mind for a week or so as well.

When i watched TDK for the first time at the cinema, when The Joker is 'torturing' Brian the fake Batman, i think most people laughed until he said "LOOK AT ME", then suddenly i swear the WHOLE cinema went silent.

Classic moment....

This part still terrifies me, even after the third viewing. From the foreshadowing with the fake Batman hitting the window of the mayor's office, to his mocking and "comforting" of Brian, it's vintage Joker and powerful acting

Stranger you got banned, but for those who are curious which scenes were improvised here's a list.

Mob meeting
Joker clapping when Gordon is promoted.
The hospital not exploding and Heath went along with it pressing the button several times.
The crashing of Bruce Wayne's party. The drink and the slapping of the characters were all improvised.

I believe the scar stories were improvised too?
Cause I remember Gamble's actor saying in some text interview that Heath came up with the Why So Serious thing? Or does my memory fail me?

Man, Heath is just awesome.

*ponders a strange thought on if Ledger could beat Bale's ass in a fight*

He might have thought the story out before hand and the details were probably vague to the crew.

well from my experiances you should never underestimate someone who is wiry and agile like i could imagen heath to be, but i wouldn't like to be on the recieving end of a bale right hook.

I know for sure Bale is strong, but Heath himself doesn't seem like much of a fighter. He could be incredibly strong for someone so skinny, but who knows?

yea but now when i think of heath having a fight i think of the joker going completly ballistic at the end. hes like a rabid dog!!

He uses his pawns to assist in his physical fights. Like when he crashes the party and Batman is beating the crap out of his cronies, Joker grabs one of them by the arm and pushes him toward Batman, who punches him. Joker then goes after Batman when he is restrained.

yea the joker always fights dirty, and when that knife came out of his shoe?!!? fooking awesome!!! they just had to throw that in there

Joker has to fight dirty. He's no physical match for Batman.

lol yea it could of been cliched but it ended up just being bad-ass, mainly because its the joker!

did joker actually stab batman with his knife boot? i think i heard him shout in pain

Oh please don't diss Jack. He may not have been the best Joker, but his performances in A Few Good Men, the Shining, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, As Good As It Gets, etc... are all amazing.

He only had a few amazing performances but he didn't change up his roles as much as Heath was doing. He was always portraying some kind of crazy guy or someone with problems...there wasn't a lot of variety in his roles. Jack was a good Joker, but nothing great.

Don't get me wrong, I loved him in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and the Departed, it's just, I feel like I'm watching the same character in every film. He is always the womanizer, foul-mouth with a bad attitude (although there are a few exceptions). I just like to see diversity in roles.

na no way i'm not dissing jack i fooking love jack. i think he has varied roles, but i just think his joker was jack on coke or speed or summin with make-up and a purple suit. no way would i diss jack hes one of my favourite actors ever.

Oy, now it's back to criticizing Jack as an actor...of all things.
