The Dark Knight The Man Who Laughs: The Joker Thread 2.0

The series was loyal to the campy late 50s and 60s comics, but during that time comics were under heavy fire for their content. There was one guy in particular I just can't remember his name right now. Characters like Batman had to be subdued in terms of violence and adult content. SO during this time you can argue that you aren't getting the true character which is Batman, therefore while the show is completely loyal to that time, it isn't loyal to that character per se.

I love how the Joker washes his hands with Purell as he comes out of Two-Face bedroom in the hospital.
I bet that was also improvised by Heath like the clapping at the precinct and many other things, I'm sure. (Heath sliding down the mountain of money etc...)

Batman: Gotham Adventures

I just watched the film again and i was thinking, when the jokers abusing Brian Douglas, "LOOK AT ME". it sounds like thats all his pain coming out. I can't really put it into words properly but i sense pain, and anger in his voice like he feels wronged in his life. Also when the ferries don't blow up the look on his face is almost like he's holding back the tears because it shows that no one, even in a corrupt city like Gotham is on on his level.

yea when he attacks batman he's just like one of the dogs. just pure animalistic rage, he just seems to have no method in his fighting style, similer to dogs. i think theres a underlying theme of dogs throughout the whole film. the joker has no sense of morals or order just like dogs. he punishes people without judgement, like what colonal kurtz says in apocolypse now, killing without judgement can be seen as strength. to just toss aside your morals for a greater purpose is strength. i believe when writing the joker the nolans took on board some of the things colonal kurtz represents.
IMO, dogs are like people - they often have a society in the form of a pack. When things get desperate, then the pack falls apart and there goes the saying "a dog-eat-dog world."

I also saw that bit as Joker being jealous that he wasn't in on the fun, so he just jumped in and started whacking things willy-nilly. Dog, Batman, it didn't matter. It's hilarious, but incredibly disturbing at the same time.

Like in the TAS epp where Harley figures out how to make the fish smile, but J won't let her kill Bats because he wants to do it :yay:

is that mad love your talking about? when Harley is gonna drop Batman in the tank full of pirahnas?

yea thats probly my favourite episode, whats the one where gordon goes to the dentist?

I was just watching that episode, I recently took the time to download the animated series. I had them on DVD but they got stolen =[. I wish they'd bring out another animated series like that. The new one is so 60s its going to get canceled so quick. I'd like to see an animated Joker with the TDK look.

hahaha he even takes the piss out of star wars!!! " may the floss be with you!! hahaah" thats rood!!

Oh I hate beware the creeper. That *****ebag reporter with the big red like animal scarf thingy and green stripped undies. I hated how he goes from being a regular reporter to being a super strength gymnast.
