History: The Saint ( Lucas J. Shaw) was born to traditional Irish-American family in the Queens borough known as the Rockaways. Since he was a small boy, Lucas has always been quite curious and creative. He went to NYU and met his roommate John there. They started out as rivals in track, but soon became closer through their rivalry. The two were also writers looking for their big break and at that time they didn’t know how important their meeting would be to their future.
On a fateful investigation of a pet shop scam, Lucas stumbled upon a racketeering scheme tied to several prominent New York based crime organizations. Lucas took several incriminating photos and told John his plan to bring the crime syndicates to justice. However, John after being pressured by several groups, offered up Lucas for trade in exchange for his life. On the day Lucas was supposed to give his testimony, John (under the orders of the mafia) shot Lucas twice. Lucas’s testimony was lost and nobody was brave enough to back him up afterwards.
Lucas fell into a coma and his family was at a loss as to what they should do with his body. A corporation known only as The Nomad Group, offered treatments that they believed would help him recover and awaken from his coma. The Shaws desperate to see their son healthy again, agreed without any hesitation. After two months of strange tests and experiments, Lucas awakened. Undaunted by his recent trauma, Lucas continued his studies at NYU and returned to normal life. As of yet, Lucas hasn’t discovered his powers, nor does he know the side effects of his new abilities. (I was going to delve deeper into that when I start posting.
Stats:
Strength – Average: Lift - 110 and up, Carry - 65lbs
Dexterity – Trained: Moderate Dexterous/Athletic Capability*
Fortitude/Stamina – Trained: Can maintain half peak performance for all physical stats for 14 minutes WITHOUT rest - Fair Toxin/Disease Resistance - Required 8 hours of sleep a day, can go 4 days without sleep/food/water under minimal activity before death occurs.
Speed – Trained: 16mph to 20mph
Intelligence - Trained: 120IQ and up - good amount of skills, very well educated. Career possibilities - Good leaps of logic (He’s only a sophomore in college.)
Skills: Lucas attends several literary classes at NYU and has a bright future ahead of him in the field of writing and journalism. Lucas is also a track star, holding the highest track records at Beach Channel High School. Lucas is also a novice photographer and a comic book geek. (that’s good for something, right?)
Power(s): Lucas has yet to put any of his abilities to use because I want him to discover them in character. Lucas possesses the power of biokinesis ( the ability to heal and affect organic beings), low level empathy, and uncontrolled power negation in the form of a small radiation field his body naturally emits when he’s frightened.
Limits: Lucas’s empathic abilities are limited to only being able read someone’s emotions; not manipulating them. Lucas is a writer, not a scientist. He hasn’t even used these powers yet, so he’s still doesn’t the full range of things he can do with his abilities. Also, Saint’s power negating field only affects beings who gain their powers from an outside source. If a beings powers are inherent (aliens, mutants,) are magical in nature (sorcerors and witches) then it will have no effect whatsoever. The emition of such a radiation field also tires Lucas, along with the rest of his abilities.
Gosh this RPG brings back memories of my first time visiting the hype.
