I think the majority of the stories could be. Except for the last ones that have to deal with the crisis. I don't know about Renee though, is she back to being a cop in the New 52?

Batwoman #1 hints that Renee is either dead, or possibly just retired as a cop or something. Though the larger chance is she is dead because I'm pretty sure the plaque/picture area that Kate was looking at was likely a roster officers who died on the job.

I know that they don't relate to each other, I ask which one I should start with due to financial reasons, I can only read one at a time for now.

I'm basically just asking which series is better/which one will I get more enjoyment and entertainment from.

Well we can't tell you what you're gonna like more.

Personally, I would go with Swamp Thing first. I think it's shorter, so financially easier on you.

I just read Snyder's Black Mirror, and it was awesome. My question: What is Jim Gordon' family status (I guess pre 52)? He was married to Barbara in Year One, and did he have Babs or James or both? Then he left Barbara for Sarah, but did she die fairly recently? I remember reading somewhere that he isn't acutally Bab's biological father but then they retconned or something. And what's Gordon's situation now?

Also when did they have to deal with James Jr. before? Did he have a story before Black Mirror to create this animosity with his father and sister?
