But for real, though, I have a soft spot for that magic lightning f***ing Supes up, so I don't mind magic being portrayed as something that generally affects Superman a little bit more than anything else would.

I've always liked the explanation of magic being a way to, stick your hand behind the curtin of reality, and fiddle around with the machinery. Superman is invulnerable to most things, magic has a way of going around that cuz it says f**k physics and the established laws of the universe. I'm shooting a bolt of lightning meant to f**k this dude up and dammit, it's gonna f**k this dude up.

His body still has fluids in it. I'd think the egg would absorb cells through some kind of osmosis, not cut off a piece of him. It's an egg, after all.

Even if it could gestate inside of Clark, wouldn't it just get crushed as it tried to grow and/or break itself trying to bust out of his chest? Every part of him is way more physically tough than that little Xenomorph.

Except Xenomorphs become hybrids with whatever it is they gestate in, so it would be half Kryptonian.

And as we saw when Superboy fought Superboy Prime, there's no contest between half and full Kryptonians.

To be fair, SBP was also infused with tons of Anti-Matter energy as well. So we don't really know how they would have stacked up if he was at baseline level.

Also, Superboy Prime was from a universe where Kryptonians were stronger. Also, theres no reason to assume that the way Superboy is a hybrid is the same as the way the Xenomorph would be a hybrid.

If you're not a fan of the current state of the DC universe, pretty much all of the blame can be laid at his and Geoff Johns' feet. And a lot of people around here aren't fans of the current state of the DC universe.

Or the state of it just before the reboot either. In fact, it has pretty much been all downhill since Infinite Crisis. A gem here and there but overall, the quality has gotten worse and worse the more involved he's becomes with the company.

It was during Infinite Crisis. He wanted to kill Dick because that would be a big shocker and all that jazz. But Geoff Johns absolutely refused to do it, he managed to talk Dan down to killing off Superboy, who was still one of his favorite characters.

I actually got into the DC universe because of Infinite Crisis and enjoyed it. But ever since i saw the enormous cluster$#% they caused with one universe, breaking it apart again, 52 and Countdown, the death and resurrection of each Flash in under two years JUST so they can have Barry Allen back, yeah I haven't been too crazy about Johns and Didio.
