Watch TDW trailer 1 vs the movie also please. notice the CGI differences especially in Thor's battefield entrance and smashing

I don't think that guy has looked at the trailers for these films since they first premiered. Its not like people aren't always pointing out the changes in FX when the new trailers premiere or anything.:funny:

I really love the West Coast vibe in the teaser. I also like that Rudd seems charming, but not in a childish way, ala Tony Stark or Peter Quill.

Rudd should definitely be bringing the "everyman" quality in a strong way, and I suspect him having a daughter will give him more responsibility and remove some of the "manchild" aspect you mentioned that we've seen.

Douglas and Rudd will steal the show here. I wasn't really blown away by the teaser but it was nice to see something in live action.

I like how they can do a lot of different things with an older Pym, possibly having been part of an original Avengers team. I also hope he's got all those screens set up because he monitors current or prospective heroes out there.

Agent Carter wasn't half bad either, I'll probably check in next week and see if it keeps my interest. Hayley Atwell is great in the role, I wonder how people are responding to the show.

The movie is half a year away, the CGI WILL improve.

I liked the trailer but it needed more action, Ant-Man looked awesome.

The Hooked on a Feeling part of the GotG teaser never really got to me. I much more preferred it when the full GotG trailer had Spirit In The Sky with that opening guitar riff.

Yeah. The opening of the GOTG trailer with the character bios is ok with the humor but then it cuts to a scene of Starlord arguing about his cassette tape player and he gets zapped and it just smash cuts to the song and a clip montage and its just really jarring. I like the trailer now but when I first saw it, I thought it was oddly put together.

Rudd is just awesome, imo. Marvel lucked out with him.

That trailer is trying its damndest to be "epic" with **** like a miniature man riding a flying ant, and its just not working for me. This feels and looks like something from Fox not Marvel. Really hope the trailer is just a terrible inaccurate representation of what the film actually is.

The original T-Rex attack. Still one of the finest examples of CGI. Same with the T-1000 in T2.

One of the odd thing about a shot like the one with the Ant is it is clearly all CGI. It is not subtle. So while it is good, it is clearly almost all, if not all CGI environment, so your brain registers the "sheen". So while it looks good, you know it is CGI. It just depends on how you take that.

Except a lot of both were practical, pretty much everything of the T-Rex bar running was practical, and then it was a night scenario and so there is less 'sheen' as you say.

And the T-1000 was more practical than people realise

Is Ant-Man known for being a silly name?

I dont see how it's any different than Spider-Man.

Is it just me or it does it sort of feel like they're going with a "Spider-man" vibe? I think Marvel Studios may be positioning Antman to be their Spidey since they likely won't ever get to use him.

I doubt the movie is half as serious as that trailer was. After the IM3 trailer I will never get fooled again.

Gotta agree with this.

The humor was what worked in this trailer.

Yes. A lot of people, like every non-comic fan I know, finds it very silly. It just lies in the lack of threat - a spider is often considered more dangerous than an ant. Plus everyone's heard of Spider-Man since childhood, most aren't used to the Ant-Man name.

Yeah this could become a running gag, like "Starlord, who?" was for GOTG. In that case, it was Marvel embracing the fact that 99% of the audience had no idea who the GOTG were and running with it. Here, it might be them embracing just how goofy a concept Ant Man is, and running with it.

Was that Evangeline Lily in the sparring scene? Because if it is, then she's look really toned and might already be a badass. It'd be great if she was the one who teaches Scott how to fight.

I think it looks great for a first look! Not sure if the epic vibe is correct for it's first trailer but hopefully it gains some traction with the GA.

I got into a big argument with a friend once about this. He thinks Ant-Man sounded stupid (as well as other friends and family members) and as much as I told them it wasn't different than "Bat"man or "Spider"-Man they just didn't understand. If Batman or Spidey never existed until recently and people found out they were making a movie they would react the same way the would towards finding out about Ant-Man.

This was my thought. It reminded me of the StarPrince crack.

It's pretty awesome that Marvel knows when and how to joke about these things.

The teaser was pretty generic. I don't know I'm still getting Thor: The Dark World vibes and I found that picture to be fairly mediocre.

The trailer was okay, nothing special but adequate. I can't help but feel this movie is unnecessary in the larger MCU, what's the point of an Ant-Man movie? But hey It's Marvel on Cinema, so I'll watch it anyways.

I know there is a lot of practical. It is why it is one of my favorite examples of how to use CGI. You use the practical in a way that you don't realize once the CGI takes over. Once the T-Rex starts running it still looks and feels like the anmatronic.

Overall, I thought it was rather dull.

Had too much overexpository dialogue and felt too homogeneous for me. It felt like I was watching an early Phase 1 film with better effects/lighting.

Not going to write it off, but I can't say I'm excited. If anything, it kinda reinforces some of my fears over why they continued the project.

That is a pretty good way of putting it. It looks a thousand times better then the FF films, but it did kind of remind me of a bad X-Men or FF trailer.

Look we are epic and we have the generic music to prove it.

It was easily the weakest teasers since TDW, though I didn't quite get a TDW vibe. TDW teaser felt really haphazard and lacking in effort. I felt effort here, though not exactly the best looking film.

I said this early. It definitely has that kind of feel.
