I don't think people realize how much damage someone can do if they were able to shrink to a near indeterminate size.

Honestly, given how the Wright situation went down, this film could have turned out to be a disaster, and the movie actually looks good. Like I have said in the past, I am seeing something around IM2 quality all said and done for this movie. Which I am okay with.

I see no signs of disaster yet, but I don't think any big problems the film might have would be visible in a trailer. It would look professional and polished regardless of who's directing.

They should've cast Garrett Morris, a/k/a the original live action Ant-Man as the lead in this movie.

It's doomed to failure without him.

I've been thinking about picking that up or waiting for the eventual OHC. It looks good!
It was really good.

I think if your a Spider-Man fan you will probably like the book because it sort of similar to Spider-Man in a way.

You have a urban, smart ,wise cracking hero who has a dramatic personal life trying to do the right thing.

I've always thought they should of gone all out crazy with one of the villainous Pym Particle using villains.

The closest they got was Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman's Irredeemable Ant-Man.

A guy who can appear out of nowhere, can break into almost any place and is surprisingly hard to kill could be bloody terrifying.

Someone who can climb through the lock in your door, climb inside you while your asleep at night and mess with your internal organs is the kind of messed up thing you would think Mark Millar would of done at some point.

I read the new Ant-Man comic and it was surprisingly awesome.
The comic really lived up to the hype.

I think Scott Lang is going to win a lot of new fans with that book.

The last I read of Scott Lang he was dying a fiery death in Avengers Disassembled, back in the 00's. He's come a long way.

Just based on what little we can see about the plot, I think the movie has some potential for interesting things in regard to Lang's character arc. Of course I would like to see more in regard to the plot, but not every teaser can be as amazing as Age of Ultron's was. I think this teaser showed a movie that could have promise, should they build the core story correctly.

Maybe Antman's final fight with Yellowjacket would be something satisfyingly bloody, both going all out with their Pym Particle powers.

He got insanely overpowered in FF finale with the combined powers of Ant-Man, Giant-Man, Vision and Wonder Man which he used to beat the ever loving s*** out of Doctor Doom.

Marvel is currently ignoring that they have him the powers of a teams of worth Avengers :funny:

Gory Mortal Kombat style fatality :woot:

Throwing people by their tie is Scott Lang's trademark move in the movie I think

I've watched the trailer now quite a few times and I still don't see why some people rate it so low.

Haven't been on this thread and don't know what people have been saying, but I thought it was okay. I was sort of hoping for Avengers trailer good, but realized that probably wasn't going to happen. The bar got set pretty high.

It's a first day of release watch for me, but the trailer didn't wow me. I like Rudd and really hope he does a good job and gets a chance to do so. He was just fine in the trailer, but I would have liked to see a couple "whammo" scenes.

Maybe Ant-Man will discover the powers of Giant Man at the end of the movie and shrink inside someone and then grow rapidly and burst out of them. He has the potential to be one of the deadliest superheroes. Also, being able to shrink instantly makes him almost like Nightcrawler where he's seemingly able to disappear and teleport to a different place and surprise the enemy.

The test footage featured that, reminded me of both Nightcrawler and Quicksilver's action scenes in the X-Men movies.

The prelude preview shows that Hank was using the same suit in the 60s, so it is the original suit Scott uses.

There are definitely 2 suits being used, so Hank was the 'Ant-Man' in a previous time.

I would've liked the teaser trailer to be more like the test footage. Even if they released some of that same footage with Ant-Man surprising those guards, running along the top of that gun and disappearing and reappearing, that would've been cool. I don't know if that sequence is actually in the movie now though or whether it was purely conceptual and never intended to form an action sequence in the film itself. It would be a shame if it's not though.

Does Ant-Man in this movie have Giant-Man-level strength? Or is it not quite up there yet?

Yep Pym's Cold War suit is the current Lang suit so it doesn't look like there was another version.

Official prelude is canon.

I was wondering if it is supposed to be the original suit that Pym wore. It looks a bit worn, with some of the red on the chest area fading. It doesn't look brand new. But are Douglas and Rudd the same height and build? What if one were much shorter or larger than the other? It's not a shrink-to-fit suit is it?

In the early comics anyway (early Avengers), Ant-Man/Giant-Man had different levels of strength depending on his height. His maximum strength was at 12 feet tall (or so I seem to recall). I really hope they throw in some sort of bone with regard to Giant-Man in this movie. Frankly, I personally think that character is a little more interesting, both, however, is very cool; especially if he can essentially disappear by shrinking (without getting stepped on :cwink:).
