Was Dylan worthy of the Ahnuld dap?

I remember when The Simpsons first became popular in the late 80's. Black people everywhere wanted to believe they were black.

I think it was Marge's afro and Barts flat top.
I thought the controversy with The Simpsons was that they were more like a black family and it was "racist"... I don't remember though. I have never been a big The Simpson fan.

I feel the opposite. I don't think he would've had much trouble pulling off Clark Kent, but Superman? I dunno.
I could never imagine Smith pulling off the humble, mild mannered part since his schtick is to be the verbose and hyper black dude.

I wasn't sure if you were joking about this, but I see you are serious. So this again goes back to my question of what awesome black super heroes/villains are there? Sure there are minority heroes and villains with fans, but none are well known. Heck...even the most well known black characters (I thought EVERYONE knew Black Manta was black :o) are not widely known. So really...what's wrong with changing the race of a more well known character to reflect today's diversity?

Let's be real now. Black Manta is a scrub villain in terms of popularity. How many non-comic book fans can even name at least one Aquaman villain? Hell, the only other one I know is Ocean Master.

:o

Half the Justice League was black, and oh boy did a bunch of idiots throw a fit over there being too many black people. He was accused of shoving a black agenda down readers' throats. Because my god, more than two black people and it's a Negro League.

:hehe:

I am laughing at how absurd that sounds. It doesn't even sound real.

I grew up on Kyle. I always preferred him to Jordan.

Yeah, I'm a Kyle guy as well. I'm a Wally guy too. It's a damn shame DC hates Wally for some unknown reason.

Same with Harvey Dent in BTAS.

TAS Harvey Dent was either black or Hispanic. There's no way in hell that dude was white.

Me neither. I never found it all that funny. Some of my white friends (jokingly) said it was because of the culture differences between white and black people.

I could. He's turned in some impressive performances over the years. I don't think that's outside of his range.

Patton has shown broader range: serious (Deja Vu), action (Mission Impossible 4), and comedy (Baggage Claim).

Gadot has only played the role of eye candy.

Heh. And even then...

(thinks back to Fast 5, and the so called "sexy" reveal... :lmao: )

:o

I don't disagree with that, but my point was Black Manta is one of the more famous black villains, but people don't even know he's black... Apparently....not even black people. :o

This goes back to my point of are there any well-known, awesome black superheroes/villains with enough mass appeal for a wider audience? I guess the answer to that question is...NO.

Let's not forget Wanted and Fox because even when the hero is black.... They must be white.... :cwink:

Looks a lot like STAS Luthor...doesn't he??? .... :cwink:

I sometimes liked it, but never enough to be a real fan.

Nope, nobody knows because Manta's a scrub just like Aquaman. And I had no idea that they called him Black Manta just because he was a black dude. Maybe I'm too young to think that they'd do something that obvious.

Storm maybe?

:o

Yep, just like TAS Lex. A non-white dude.

This conversation is getting stale. :o

This is news to me...no one I knew thought they were black.

Hell at the time "Black Bart" t-shirts were a popular fad (around my way anyway). It would've been kinda redundant to make Bart doubly black.

Was Carl not on the show back in the day?

That's another thing that was big back then that some still do nowadays, making t-shirts with black versions of popular cartoon characters.

:cwink: I guess so.

Halle ruined that. Now people want Storm to be white. :o

He does look ethnic... That's Timm's hallmark for his white villains. Like I said....

You're stale. Freshen up. :o:o:o:o

So, the "C" word. Just a white people taboo word or are we supposed to hate using it too?

Cuz In all my years, I've only ever heard 4 or 5 black people use it, and 1 of them was myself. :o

We just go with *****. The c word is like something uppity white people use. Like wealthy white guys and women who are like over 40.

I've always dug the word. I tend to use it in place of motha f**ka every now and then. You know, like the Brits in movies and s**t.

Whoa whoa WHOA...

When did I ever say I was wealthy? :o

Our Skype calls pretty much consist of a bunch of minorities, a ginger, and a few evil whities using the "C" word often.

People of all races should never be afraid to use the word CANCER.

White women don't like to be called the c-word. It makes them very angry.

:cwink: I guess so.

I remember my dad being pissed that Angela Bassett wasn't cast as Storm. I agree. Halle Berry wasn't black enough. I can buy Angela Bassett, with an accent, as being straight out of Uganda or wherever Storm came from.

:o

So, the "C" word. Just a white people taboo word or are we supposed to hate using it too?

I've never ever used the "C" word. And it's not even because it's taboo. It just simply doesn't exist in my vocabulary. I never understood why it was so offensive in the first place. I once read something about how calling a woman that word signifies that she is nothing more than a vagina and that it dehumanizes her. Yeah, that was a bunch of bulls***. I'll gladly debate that flawed ass logic with anyone willing.

C'mon, Old Man. I know that humor worked when you were a kid in the 50's, but that don't fly today. :o

You'd think I was a geriatric the way you and FALLEN ANGEL talk about me.

And I was actually fishing for an answer Moose. Is the "C" word... Colored?
