My rubies mask, any tips on adding structure or making new piping?
 
Looks like it's shaping up Maxx. You sticking with the blue?

I've seen one of these. If you want to "beef" it up here are a couple of my suggestions.


1. Cut the cheek opening out.

2. Line the whole thing with some black foamies. Use super glue GEL. This will add some thickness to the mask.

3. This should be latex, at least the one I saw was. Blast the whole thing with a coat of black plasti dip and then repaint it.


Thats about all I can suggest. It's not really sculpted/molded correctly. That's why it's sitting so low on your face. The side parts are suppose to cover your ears. From what I could tell from the one I saw, they didn't sculpt the sides to go upward, rather just took it around the side in a straight line.

Thank you good sir! Exactly the type of answer I was looking for, I cut the cheeks out lastnight. Got the plastidip and foamies now, I was thinking about cutting out some of the pipes and adding my own. Any ideas for someone on a budget? I am fairly confident I can get it it to look decent, as for the side parts not covering the ears I think I can fix that if I get creative. Anyways thanks a lot.. i'm jealous of all your incredible Bane masks. If i'm the only one dressed at the premier i'll be happy even if its lackluster :)

No problem. I really don't have any ideas on replacing the tubes. Be sure that it won't compromise the mask by cutting them out though. Maybe someone else has an idea on those.

Not everyone can afford the fan made costume items so don't sweat it. Bottom line, if you're having fun doing this, and you're happy with your results, that's all that matters.
 
Hehe, got the grey thermal sweater today. It's good but it isn't big enough to match the bagginess on screen. I'll probably stretch it out a little bit.

Ha. I received my brown thermal today. Also not as baggy as Id hoped. Oh well. I stretched mine out as well. I like the look alot better than the black shirt I was using.

Yeah, it looks good. Just needs a bit of stretching. I wish they'd offer 3XL or even 4XL lol.
 
I thought a 3xl would be too big. I bought a 2xl thermal. Like I said, it's a bit baggy, but not as it should be. I dont want to spend another 20 bucks ordering one though.

I was just looking at that costumebase Bane guantlet. Eh. Id pass. You could probably make your own and have it look just as good if not better.
