That's cool. I wish that would have been.

The pic of Billy Dee inspired me to look for others.

Michael Keaton's still my favorite live action Bruce Wayne / Batman.

Heath's Joker would've went splat this time if it were Keaton :hehe:

I wish they could have found a way for Keaton to move his head in the suit.

those pics of Billy Dee two-face are awesomely creepy.

Too bad he didn't get the chance to play Two-Face, he could been great!

Thinking about it. The police, Gordon and Dent were all incredibly useless in this film :hehe:

Gordon either shows up too early and does nothing but get held up at gunpoint, or shows up an hour too late and gets barred from arresting the Joker!
And Harvey Dent did zilch! He said he would sort things out, but he didn't.
If they included a scene of the police and Dent investigating Axis Chemicals, and getting duped into believing it was legit, then that wouldn't of inspired this rant! :o

all of this is true. Gordon is as useless as he was before the bronze age.

I haven't got to meet any other actors from BATMAN movies, but I got some pics of Billie Dee as Harvey signed....

So true. We can justify it and say it was based more off the earlier Gordon, since 89' was influenced by the original golden age of Batman. But it's still dumb that Gordon is such a buffoon in these movies. The only thing that gives me a sigh of relief is that i tell myself "well, at least they used him a little more in this movie than the 90s sequels".

Harvey Dent was useless, but i think they only had it in their mind to introduce the character to the audience.

That's kind of the point in the movie that the mayor (who seemed to be more concerned about postponing the 200th anniversary city festival than anything else) , the district attorney, and the police commissioner's benevolence was nothing more but empty speeches about ridding Gotham of crime and corruption. Heck Bruce Wayne sees right through 'em. Bruce's absence from Dent's press conference implies this b/c he knows unlike him they're not capable of getting their hands dirty to rid Gotham of crime. Which explains why, when Vicki questioned Bruce on his personal crusade, he responded with "b/c nobody else can".

I loved it in BF, where Gordon just sits and does nothing when Two-Face attacks the circus...he lets the Mayor put himself at risk by goading the lunatic :funny:

That is mega cool

I've never actually saw it that way until now

That's because that's not how it was. The Mayor was trying to save the city from bankruptcy by having the festival which he believed would attract the businesses back to the city. Something Bruce himself supported by having that fundraiser for it at Wayne Manor.

Behind the scenes you see the Mayor tell Dent the public won't be scared once they get Grissom into court. Gordon says to his men if they get their hands on Napier then they'd have Grissom when they get the tip off about the Axis raid. Napier tells Eckhart that Dent has been sniffing around their front companies. You see Dent saying he's working on trying to break Joker's poison scam but he needs all the help he can get. The Mayor eventually cancels the 200th anniversary festival because they can't guarantee the public's safety.

It's not like they were all speeches and didn't try or care. It's just they were all useless at their jobs. I mean Joker can announce on TV that he'll be at the parade at midnight to hand out free money to the crowd, and Gordon and his men are nowhere to be seen when the time comes (but Knox and Vale manage to be there for it). That's Inspector Clouseau level incompetence.
