Well, if you've never watched Lost, I guess it wouldn't be obvious. But if you've seen it, the reference stood out like a sore thumb.

This blew my mind as a kid. It's Batman mixed with Hammer Horror (mainly Dracula) and Phantom of the Opera.

Nobody has lit or shot Batman quite like Burton since. Let's hope Snyder creates some awesome imagery.

I thought it was spooky. It didn't help that I was extremely afraid of heights as a kid.

I also like the scene with Batman and Vicky in the Batcave, where Batman is standing in the shadows and we see his eyes. I miss stuff like that in Batman movies.
