The Official Batman Returns Thread - Part 2

My first exposure to Catwoman was the incredible Michelle Pfeiffer's scintillating turn in Tim Burton's moody Batman Returns. I was a grade-schooler at the time, and was in absolute, drop-jawed awe of Pfeiffer's fearless, fierce and undeniably female feline fiend. She was lithe and little next to Michael Keaton's burly Batman, yet proved a well-matched and fearsome foe with her whip skills and nine lives. I yearned for her to resurface in future Batman movies. Yet it took 12 long years for the incomparable Catwoman to finally return to the screen, and in her own movie starring Oscar-winner Halle Berry no less! Of course this Catwoman was entirely dreadful, and we should all agree as a society to forget this abomination ever happened so that Catwoman can rise from the dead once more and get the movie she's long deserved.

Watch the teaser as if I were 2 years old again? :oldrazz:

Fantastic job... really well put together.

Thank you very much. I just wanted it to give signs of the characters in the film, but keep it short and then finally showing the Dark Knight swooping in with a menacing look on his face with a short look before smashing to the ultra bad ass Returns emblem with the snow effect. Once again, Glad you enjoyed it.

thanks for sharing those Elevator Man... never seen em before

Newbie alert!!

Yea Im new here, but man I LOVE Returns, like an insane amount, its actually favourite film of all time.
I just love everything about it, its darkness, its story and of course Keaton being the biggest badass Batman ever.

The action is also just so intense and real feeling. You really got the sense that Keaton's Batman (especially in Returns) would kill you if he had to. He was clearly, clearly the most ruthless Batman we've ever seen.

I wouldn't say it was real feeling, it's more surreal than anything.

But yea Keaton was definitely the most unhinged and violent Batman. You could always tell there was something lurking underneath the surface with him. Keaton really sold the anger and pain in the character sometimes just with his eyes.

I guess I mean the fighting scenes, they were fast and it wasn't like Batman was getting overwhelmed by these circus guys, he was kicking their asses really with ease, like you'd expect a hard trained dude to do to a bunch of circus performers.

Say, you're okay. May I be shameless and direct you to my thread where I reviewed Batman Returns scene by scene? It came down to too much effusive praise, but I tried to reason why I liked what I liked.

^ No. I just google things in my spare time.

And some others Dark Knight90! will enjoy as well:

For me, the best movie from the Batman universe. Most challenging and interesting characters, most emotionally complicated storyline and of course, Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman. Tim Burton's vision is simply the best.

I'm the type of person who always wants the next film to outdo the last. Here I was so excited about Hathaway's Catwoman until we saw what she looked like. Now the character may be great, but I'm nothing less than disappointed over her terrible costume. Michelle Pfeifer's costume on the other hand was perfect.

Except that Hathaway's costume looks pretty much exactly like the comics costume.

You really can't blame them for being accurate. :o
