Hey Mr DJ. Put a record on. I want to dance with my lady.

Two trailer park girls go round the outside, round the outside, round the outside!

That Keaton/Pfeiffer gif is beautiful.

Well Batman is a narcissist. Why else would he have a bat emblem on his chest when he's already dressed like a bat? why else would he have bat shaped projectiles? the man is clearly proud of his logo design.

Bruce actually took the time to put a Batman logo on his cd player. Still amazes me.

Hey, what else is he going to do in his downtime? He was just sitting around staring into space when the Batsignal was turned on at the beginning of Returns. :oldrazz:

I just love this suit. More than any other bat-suit.

I feel like this is the real Batman and the blue/gray spandex comic suit is the "comic adaptation" of it.

Agreed, and this is the real Superman.

This is wonderful. The emotions on their faces make me feel so damn sad ha ha ha. Now that's effective acting.

Michelle always blows me away in this scene...

A very talented actress just doing her thing effortlessly.

so beautiful...shows what i consider to be the "last chance" moment for both...Selina and Bruce, not Catwoman and Batman...Bruce,desperate for the woman he loves, the chance for a "normal" life with his true soul mate....Selina,with uncertainty in her eyes, tempted by the chance for love and happiness with Bruce...the moments before her final decision is made,as she fully rejects Selina Kyle, and fully becomes just the Catwoman - indeed, the very road Bruce himself had been going down, until his love, and fear, of Selina/Catwoman opened his eyes, and turned him away from living in total darkness....

God DAMN! what a good, soulful, poetic film this is!!

I know I've said this many times before but every scene with Pfeiffer and Keaton is gold.

Very well said. I agree.

Their chemistry is insane. I don't know if their off screen past played a factor but those 2 just completely smoked the screen together. I really hope Bale and Hathaway have their own type of chemistry. He deserves a good & believable leading lady before he hangs up the cowl dammit :csad:

You got that right. Only problem! I think there might be a love triangle between him, Hathaway, and Cotillard. We'll see how that goes.

I'll probably get flamed for this but I don't like Cotillard. Something about her has bothered me since Big Fish. She's a big reason why I hated Inception. Which actually SPOILER BOX
seriously potential spoiler

could work to her benefit considering who she obviously may be. I don't even read spoilers but c'mon any comic fan who didn't deduce it upon casting isn't too sharp I think lol. The narrative of the upcoming Batman Inc. volume is no coincidence. It's good cross promotion he he

I hope everything he does with Hathaway in and out of the cape is going to help him cement his legacy. Keaton has gone down as the ladies man Batman and people try to look at Bale's Batman as a joke cause Katie Holmes and Maggie G had zero chemistry with him.

He did his best but couldn't sell the empathic relationship that only genuine chemistry with the actress could've really projected. His time is due and if he does this I think it will make Bale's Batman not seem like so much of a cold blow hard like some people view him to be.

Oh and for the record Adam West is the true ladies man live action Batman of all. But most people choose to only acknowledge the modern movies and forget about that show :cmad:

It defently looks like Chris Nolan may have done a bit of a homage to Batman Returns
with Christan Bale and anne Hathaway dancing at ball that resembles Michael Keaton
and Michelle Pfeiffer dancing In Returns.

Both Bruces have grey side burns, too :oldrazz:

Now all we need is for the chemistry between the actors to be as electric.

Oddly enough, the most chemistry Bale has had with a 'love interest' was with Ewan McGregor in Velvet Goldmine...

The Tim Burton Batman movies are, for my, interpretation, very personal for the Batman character. He fights his creator, his evil twin, and the love of his life. All these villains are shown to be similar in some way to Bruce Wayne. So, perhaps they represent Bruce as well, and give us some insight into how he handled his damaged psyche before becoming the Bat. The Penguin wanted to know his true identity. Selina Kyle was looking to release all her pent up emotions. The Joker wanted to get back at he who wronged him.

But there's one more villain, Max Schreck. Schreck is not a costumed freak, he is a corrupt businessman, but more importantly, he is a father. Bruce's father was killed in front of him. Oswald's father appears to be the one to blame his trying to kill his son. Schreck cares for his son Chip and devises a plot that should keep his son wealthy and powerful after his own death.

I think Schreck, in ideology at least, is perhaps the biggest villain of the two movies. A father who will kill for his son, is facing two orphans who share a connection between their own fathers and death. When Batman Returns reaches its climax, Schreck has become an enemy of all three main characters. The Penguin wants to give him grief over watching children drown below him, the way his father tried to drown him, only to then drown Max as well. Catwoman wants to kill Max for revenge. He is a symbol of all of Selina's disappointments and sexual discrimination. Batman comes to Max's rescue, but only to take him to jail and save Selina from falling trap to another father.

I'd like to think that if Bruce had been able to put Schreck away in jail and stopped Selina, he would have quit Batman altogether. Bruce honored his father's memory by becoming a crimefighter and by putting away a "bad" father, he would have reached peace. With Selina at his side, he'd finally be whole; something he hadn't been since Jack Napier's murder of the Waynes.
