Happy Birthday Michelle Pfeiffer aka Selina Kyle/Catwoman. Hope she has purrrrfect day.

Happy Birthday, Ms Pfeiffer!

Let's hope she celebrates and gets back to work ASAP! :woot:

I love this movie so much, but could you imagine if this was coming out now, with how knee-jerky and spoiler-hungry fandom is now? I mean...

Latino Review: "CATWOMAN'S ORIGIN REVEALED! -- Selina Kyle is a secretary that gets pushed out a window to her death, and is resurrected by a bunch of alley cats."
Fanboy: *starts breathing deeply*
AICN: "PENGUIN SCOOP! -- Oswald Cobblepot is born looking freakish, so his parents dump him and his bassinet off a bridge, and he is raised in the sewers of Gotham."
Fanboy: *starts shaking violently*
IGN: "CATWOMAN'S COSTUME REVEALED! -- It appears that Catwoman's costume in this film is made up of several pieces of leather that have been crudely stitched together."
Fanboy: *mass murders entire family*
Advanced Review: "BATMAN KILLS A FEW MORE PEOPLE."
Fanboy: *kills self*

^ To be fair, from what I hear, that pretty much is how a lot of the fandom reacted back then anyway once they saw the movie.

For me, this is still easily my favourite of the Burton/Schummacher movies.

The difference is, they got to react to the finished product. No twitter teases a year out from release, no crappy or blurry shots from someone's phone and no opportunity to be overly dramatic on the internet.

I just adore Burton/Danny's Penguin. It's a radical departure from the comic books, but is an equally fascinating character in his own right. The only other reinterpretation of a villain that is as good as this is Molina's Ock.

I think Ian's and Michael's Magneto were great aswell!

Yeah, it’s not the best depiction of Penguin, but DeVito made it fun, he was one of the best aspects of the movie. I’m a bigger fan of the comic-book oriented Penguins like Burgess Meredith and Paul Williams, but having a portrayal that does something fresh with character every once in a while is pretty awesome. People should be thankful for getting alternate takes as it might just make the character even better.

That is fantastic.

My favorite poster for Returns is this one;

You know, out of all the stuff I’ve seen for Returns, I’ve never come across that poster. I like it, especially Penguin’s wacky umbrella. Something seems off though, what’s up with Catwoman’s chin?

Also, here’s the poster that I keep seeing around the web.

Is that really how the fandom reacts? Do they really flip tables if it isn’t to their liking? I find that kind of sad, people should at least give it a chance, even if it doesn’t sound good at first. I’m stunned, but then again, I guess you should expect that from any fan of any series or lore.

^ The three head shot one is my favourite poster from this movie.

As to Catwoman's chin on the other one, it's just that her hand is covering part of it and the the rest is being blended with the moon.

The headshots one is the most common but I also prefer that one the most for that film

Finally!

I passed on the '89 one cause I was waiting for this one.

His cheeks may be a bit too rosy but I'll take it.

I already have the '89 one, so I don't think I can justify spending the money on this, even though I LOVE the Returns costume.

It's a maybe for now.

Batman Returns was always my favourite of the 2 Tim Burton films. I think deep down, it was the Batman film he had always wanted to make but didn't quite have the clout for '89. As a huge fan of Burton, it's a classic and much more representative of his style than Batman 89 was. Though I do know the gothicness has turned off some people (like most Tim Burton films do).
