If he's in it's defintely for Jonathan. At least that's the character his acting's leaning most towards.

This feels on par with Tim Robbins in GL a name actor that you know his face but not too big where he has no problem playing smaller roles.

which is fine by me thats if he is playing pa kent which i think he is

A bit too old for Lex IMO and not hardcased "cityslicker" enough to be Perry. But what do I know. Just glad to be getting more names and this is one of the better ones. :yay:

I love Crudup, and their jawline is uncannily similar, but if Billy does any Jor-El voice-overs, all I'll hear is the MasterCard priceless commercials LOL

I didn't even know that was him! It won't ruin it for me, his narration in watchmen is fine.

I'm not a huge fan of his. He's come off so pretentious (and I don't think he's even that good of an actor). I mean, I get the news but I'm not thrilled to hear it.

Costner has that all-american quality about him. He's a better choice for pa kent than any of the suggestions I've heard.

You know its weird I've never really liked Kevin Costner yet I could definitely see him as Jonathan Kent. If he's cast i wouldn't mind at all.

i would like him for Pa Kent. something in hes old face looks like a farmer from Kansas.

Costner as Lex is not going to happen because he is to old for an action packed Snyder movie.

"Key role" sounds more like Jonathan than Perry or Lex.

just cast Annette Bening(who is from Kansas) as Martha Kent and we are good

Wow, I never considered Kevin Costner before, but I think he'd be an inspired choice for Jonathan Kent. He definitely has the farming/cornfield thing down pat. :woot: Plus, he's an Academy Award-winning director. As I said previously in this thread, I think Nolen and company should surround the newcomer Cavill with established, credible actors, just like the producers of the original Superman movie did. I could definitely get behind this direction.

I'd be cool with that.

And just to add about my suggestion of him being Jor-El, I'd say what we've heard thus far pretty much makes anything possible. Many thought that Superman would never be played by someone who wasn't American. We now have a British actor playing him. People thought the female lead was Lois. We're now hearing that it's Ursa.

Of course with the Ursa rumors is the word that those associated with it were not Americans. They could simply being going Krptonian=British route. Or they could not. When I was a kid, I thought it was odd that it was only British people we saw as Kryptonians. Has this been the common thing to do after the Reeve films? I haven't seen enough of Lois & Clark or the Superboy show. Smallville seemed to be going that route early on, but has since shown that they're Kryptonians are more diverse.

So, could we be dealing with an American Jor-El? I doubt it, but I wouldn't be surprised if we did.

No worries. Guess you just came in a little late.

I wasn't thinking I was breaking ground with my three choices, three of the most obvious characters.

Cut to Costner being cast as Non.
