So,.... Does anyone else think that the "new" Conner can whoop Slade in a straight up fight?
Conner Kent?
Connor Hawke?
John Connor?
Connor MacLeod?
Connor Angel?
Kon Ducki?

Who is this new Conner?

Well the new Connor Hawke is amnesiac and cannot shoot arrows so, no, he'd probably get his ass kicked pretty hard by Slade.

Oh wait, I forgot, the new Connor has accelerated healing, due to having been grafted with a bit of Plastic Man. So he might stand a bit of a chance.

I'm thinking he means Connor Hawke.
Yup

But he retains all his monk-like fighting skills.

...wha?

What did I miss? ... DAMN YOU WINICK!
LOL

more thamn a chance,... this still makes me think that the events in his multi-issue oneshot involving dragons blood would've made him "super Arrow".

God, where to start? :facepalm
I swear INHO DC is trying too hard.

I'm surprised that people hasn't lost faith in Winnick at this point.

Winick is a good writer for the first half dozen issues of any book he writes. After that, it's best to get out before you find yourself reading Green Arrow purely out of habit and hating the OYL gap even more because of him. Or something.

Where has the new Connor been shown? Sounds ridiculous
So far, he's only appeared in those last few issues of GA/BC. After Winick left the title, new writer Kreisberg sent Mia off to England to shag, and Connor off to wherever to "find himself." For better or for worse, no other writer has tackled this storyline yet.

Bedard could start writing him as a homicidal maniac.

I guess the way I see it is that the sooner someone tackles it, the sooner someone can fix it. Getting quietly put by the wayside and politely ignored is how characters like Tempest and Cass Cain and Captain Atom get to the "Oh, they haven't been in the spotlight, no one will care if we do ****** plots with them" stage.

That's true. They should just put all those character on one team, give it to Johns, have him fix their continuity and move on.

But Cass Cain wasn't put by the wayside or ignored. Her solo ongoing had just ended, Infinite Crisis ended only a couple of months later, and the Cassandra we all knew and loved was still fresh in our minds when she suddenly popped up as a totally different person. That took less than half a year. Time clearly doesn't play a factor. DC will eff up a character at the drop of a dime. If someone really wanted to, they could've butchered the hell out of Connor a month after Winick left GA/BC.

Cassandra Cain beat Lady Shiva to the verge of death, left her hanging over a Lazarus Pit, and disappeared, never to be seen again. I don't know who's been impersonating her lately, but she ain't Cassandra Cain. That's the story I'm sticking with.

Her series was cancelled by DiDio, despite its strong sales for a high C-lister, mid B-lister. Gabrych had more plans for the character, and he too was surprise at the series' cancellation.

Then the 3 editors gave Cassandra Cain to Adam Beechen and said for him to turn her into Robin's villain.

And so the writer, WITH NO KNOWLEDGE OF HER BACKGROUND, RUINED, RUINED, RUINED HER.

And when DC tries to fix her, THEY GAVE HER BACK TO THE GUY WHO RUINED HER IN THE FIRST PLACE, and he RUINS HER EVEN GODDAMN FURTHER. HE STILL HASN'T BLOODY READ THE SERIES! HE. DOES. NOT. GET. CASSANDRA. AT. ALL.

Right now, DC's using her because fans want to see her. They have no REAL plans for the character.

What's worst is that a decent Cassandra Cain fan can come up with better story ideas for the character, for OYL, post-Beechen's OYL, and post-Beechen's series.

Are any of these trade paperbacks worth reading -

Superman: Last Son (Donner, Johns, art by Kubert)
Superman: Escape From Bizarro World (Donner, Johns, Byrne)
Superman: Brainiac (Johns, illustrator Gary Frank)

Wonder Woman: Down To Earth (Greg Rucka)

Very much yes to the first and the last ones. I haven't read the two in the middle yet.

I thought Lady Shiva was top 3 in terms of hand to hand in the DC U?

Cassandra is -- no joke, no hyperbole, no ****tin' ya -- often stated to be somewhere at the top 1. That's not even the first time she defeated Lady Shiva.

Yeah, Cass is supposed to be the best, with Lady Shiva, Richard Dragon, Bronze Tiger, and (on a good day) Connor Hawke close behind.

I think Deathstroke might be up there as well, but he probably doesn't count since he's got superpowers on top of his martial arts.
