The Amazing Spider-Man The Official Emma Stone/Gwen Stacy thread - Part 2

Well Uncle Ben and Norman Osborn were in all three of the last series even though they died.

Hey Majik!! Long time no see. :)

I agree, Gwen can't die in TASM2...and since she has signed on for three films, it likely we'll see her death in TASM3. Sucks though, cause I like her better than MJ.

Now I'm usually not into blondes...but with the exception of Malin Ackerman and Emma Stone, and really, Stone was a natural blonde before she dyed her hair red? Wow.

It doesn't matter. Stone has signed a 3 picture deal.

It's not ridiculous if she dies, but it's ridiculous to say she must die in the second movie.

Honestly, I don't see them doing the bridge death of Gwen Stacy in this new series. I mean, I felt when Peter throws her out the window at school, it was their small reference to it.

It bothers me that so many people think she just has to die at all.

Heh...I decided to watch an Emma Stone movie... called the House Bunny. lmao. She wets her own pants with a water hose.

She was amazing in that movie. I'm happy to say that was my introduction to her.

And I happen to like Anna Faris but Emma...just..oh :hrt: How old is she again?

oh...Right. So ... redhead or blonde? Im always so used to seeing Emma as a redhead but it was different seeing her as a blonde.

I love Emma's performance in House Bunny, Easy A, and Zombieland (will see The Help someday). She's easily one of the most beautiful and talented actresses in the Hollywood today and she's also incredibly down to earth. Andrew Garfield is a lucky man. :)

I loved her in Crazy Stupid Love. Mmm ... Oh I should watch that movie again some time. :hrt:

watching the end credits of The House Bunny and my god, Stone looks all hot. lol.

Gwen must die in TASM2. You can't have a moment that tragic in the third movie of a trilogy. You need to end on an optimistic note, with Peter finally coming to terms with Gwen's death and showing a flash of hope with MJ.
And then another reboot? Another origin movie? No please. Just make it an open ended franchise if they want to retain the rights.

And she can't die in the sequel. She's too good for that.

Indeed; and by no means am I comparing Emma's Gwen to the Rachel Dawes character in terms of popularity or personality, but by how she may be used in a similar way to evoke a bigger sense of tragedy to an already tragic hero by having her killed off in the second film of the franchise, and unlike Rachel's death, I'm sure Gwen's death will actually make audiences truly emphasize with Peter.

And like I said before, whoever they cast as MJ, let alone on how they write her, had better do a great job if they don't want to hear people universally saying:

"The Only reason why Peter is with MJ is because Gwen is dead since there's no way he would have left Gwen for someone like MJ".

Kirstin's version of MJ is downright terrible and I can't imagine why any sane person would want to go for a person like that, so they had better do some serious good writing when it comes to making her character likable.

If anything, they shouldn't show any romantic sparks between peter and MJ in the second film if she's introduced there and just have her simply shown as a good friend to both Peter and Gwen, and thus making the death of Gwen hit MJ as well.

Which leads me to this question...Are Gwen and MJ friends in the comics?

And just so you know, Emma's portrayal and performance as Gwen made me forget Kirsten's MJ. Like...yeah very literally.

I think my own spidy senses are tingling. :hrt:

From what I understand and have read; yes, they were friends. In fact, it was because of the emotional toll that it took on both Peter and MJ from having lost Gwen so tragically that led them both down the path of finding comfort in each other.

And yeah, now I'm definitely hoping that Amy Adams version of Lois was written in a way that would make her as likable on screen with viewers and fans like how Gwen's character was written

Oh and her kiss with Peter on the rooftop was so much more better than MJ's kiss with Peter in the first film in terms of the upside down kiss.lol

I missed that part when they kissed...gah, I have this urge to see it again but not too soon. :(

Emma Stone was 1000 times better as the love interest than Kirsten Dunst even though it's a different character.

Emma was great! It's going to be heartbreaking when they (hopefully) kill her off

Lol, I love it how everyone's hoping for her to die and dreading it at the same time.

The Help was great. It's kinda weird seeing two Gwen Stacys and a woman who insulted Peter Parker by calling him a small fry in the same movie.
