What annoys me in Arrow, is that when women do get killed off, it's the decent ones. Yet all the horrible written ones make it out alive and get shoved down our throat.

We know, you Laurel haters don't stop b****ing about her for five seconds. :o

I'm actually surprised that the show's creators haven't already brought back Bruce's Parents to do Flashbacks as of yet.

I mean no other live action incarnation of Batman, under any format, have really dealt with what the Wayne Family was really like long before their deaths.

Batman Begins explored some of it, but given that it was a 2 Hour movie about Batman, they could only show so much.

Here they can really explore the Wayne mythology and really develop the Wayne family on screen in ways that other interpretations haven't as of yet.

I was actually thinking the same thing while watching the episode.

I love what they're doing with this interpretation of Bruce, showing him testing and pushing himself, while actively trying to make himself smarter. He's inquisitive; I've noticed that he's constantly asking questions and when he looks at people who are talking to him, it almost seems like he's studying them and trying to get a read on them.

It's more believable that, after continuing down this path and eventually training harder, this boy can grow up to be someone as capable and resourceful as Batman -- rather than just go away for several years and come back as Batman.

Agreed. I've felt David Mazouz to be one of the best parts of the show since the pilot. I hope we don't lose him to any time jumps.

I'd disagree with Ajendo's description. I don't know ANY women dumb enough to go "Hmm, a Mob boss just sent people who threatened my life because of my boyfriend. I'm going to go and try to reason with him."

That's just bad, and incredibly unrealistic writing. Before the Falcone stuff, I really didn't mind Barbra, and I'm actually a bit surprised people were so annoyed with her. I mean, I would have acted the same way. If a former friend who was a cop shows up and says, "hey, I think your significant other may have killed someone," followed by that significant other acting oddly, I would be worried as well.

But the Falcone thing combined with last night's twist (another bad writing choice) was what really put it over the edge for me. It's like the writers are trying to make her unlikeable. I feel bad for the actress.

I read a post on another forum that justified Barbara's decision. Since Jim was basically hellbent on committing suicide-by-gangster she decided to turn herself into Falcone, suspecting that he would use her as leverage to turn Jim back. It's an interesting idea.

But yeah, having her walk out on Jim twice is ridiculous.

I gave up on this show after the second or third episode but my DVR kept recording it so I gave it another try.

I have to say the show has improved quite a bit. I think it was the lack of "camp" and a more serious tone has really turned the show around for me.

The stuff with Barbara makes me roll my eyes because it is so silly. Barbara comes across as being unreasonable. Her wanting Gordon to tell her everything about his job is just stupid. My wife and I work in healthcare and we can't tell each other about what happened at work (HIPPA). My wife doesn't ask me about stuff and I don't ask her. It's a common understanding we have and I feel Barbara should have the same understanding that Jim can't tell her everything about his job.

The actress that plays Barbara is beautiful and I hope she is not gone forever but I also hope that she will be more understanding of what Jim has to deal with in Gotham.

Oh, I really loved the correlation Jim made about the escalating decay in Gotham and the Wayne murders. Really good point.

Thank goodness the DCCU has nothing to do with Gotham, which means:

- No Catgirl shoehorned as witness of the Waynes' murder
- No campy villains like Fish Mooney, etc...
- No campiness overall

Speaking of, Nicholas D'Agosto is miscast as Harvey Dent, too young and his acting was not very convincing. When Harvey got angry, it was way over the top, but the writing did not help either, it was the usual on the nose style the show has done with all the future villains: Look, I'm the Riddler, doing riddles already! And I'm Catwoman, I love cats, milk and my friends call me Cat!! Now look at me, I'm the future Two Face Harvey Dent, flipping the coin like crazy and acting psycho already, just in case you people were not paying enough attention!!! :whatever:

Strike 1, that. Strike Two being making Montoya and Allen unlikable and the pending Strike 3 being Earth 1 Alfred characterization creeping through Pertwee

Oh Jesus Christ, enough of the ****ing whining about them doing nods to the mythology with these characters. Enough. If they stripped all that kind of stuff away, you'd be pissing and moaning even louder that they were playing the characters too straight and weren't honoring the source material.

You don't like what they're doing? Take a hike then, because I'm tired of the ****ing whining.

Try tell that to the Keanustine cult and those who feel the Constantine series is pro-New 52 when it itsn't. Or the ones who feel Spider-Man is required for CA: Civil War knowing damn well Sony won't let him go.

Still, the blood pressure

Sawyer, Mikelus is the same guy who thinks that Victor Von Doom Domashev being an angry anti-social blogger is a good idea "if executed right." So I don't think he gives a **** about the mythology, to be honest.

Well that explains it. :batman:

*horror gasp* Shame on you, Mikelus!

So stop watching the show then. Nobody is forcing you to watch it and it's clear you're annoyed with a lot of things the show is doing. So just stop watching do us all a favor.

Ok guys, enough. People are allowed to watch what they want and rant about it on here if they so choose, if they aren't attacking you personally then let them be about their business and you be about yours.

It seems some have trouble defending this show, I wonder why... :o

I care about the mythos, but Gotham is over the top instead of being more subtle. Imagine if someone like Jonathan Nolan was the showrunner, then the show would be better written and acted, with higher ratings and happier fans.

On the whole FF thing, if despite the changes, the essence of the characters is still there (personality, powers, etc...), who knows, time will tell. First Class and DOFP were different from the comics but still worked critically and financially, only a minority of haters still whine about it. :word:

Too young? But he's playing a young Harvey De.... oh, **** it. Nevermind.

^^^ My initial post was aimed at those taking issue with your negativity, it was not an invitation to come back in on a high horse drumming your views home.

A little respect for differing views from BOTH sides needs to be learned quickly.

Can we at least complain about the show and not other things that aren't even related.

This post signals the end of this current back and forth of Mikelus vs everyone who isn't Mikelus.

Look, I don't want to start giving out infractions so I'm going to give 5 minutes grace on the post I made.

I'm confused, Hunter. The "leave the thread" and "stop watch the show" comments you initially warned about have come and gone, so what's the problem?

Dammit, Hunter, my post was the most on-point post I've ever produced and you C. Lee'd it straight to hell. :csad:
