WHAAA?! Ang's Hulk was straight-up beastly looking, even the abs.
I couldn't even see any abs on AngHulk. To be honest, many of the design issues affect the others. AngHulk may have not seemed as pudgey if he had been given a better color(more like TIH's) and then the whole non-monstrous design of the face added into that as well. AngHulk often seemed like a bodybuilder(just w/o the Mr. Incredible-esque ratio) who's way into the off-season.
Nice job And the Hulk isn't even standing with head up. I even think Roth is looking too low so the CGI team tilted the Hulks head so it would fit better. Look at the Hulks pants, no way!
I just re-read Hulk 1-6 and no where could I find this madder the larger he gets. I think the size problem started with the directors taking some of these exaggerated covers out of context and not considering the angle the drawings were. Like the very first issue even. Its an slight upward shot. Then in the comic book he even has his shirt on.I thought the angrier Hulk became the larger he got? So basically he starts out at around 7 or 8 feet tall and can get as large as 14 or 15 feet...
Or am I remembering things wrong again?
Edit...
Just remembered, the angrier he gets, the stronger he becomes, not larger. The larger thing was an Ang Lee invention. I think.

Again, to me his size being superhuman is much more about girth than height. Hulk has never been superhumanly tall in the comics. He's just fairly tall compared to most people. Where he excells is that while he may be about as tall as many NBA players are, he's 3-4X as thick as any of them. He's a thousand pounds and I think that's how he should be portrayed. Sure, he's only maybe a foot taller than Thor(who's a really big guy in his own right) but he's got to be at least twice as wide as Thor which IMO is sufficient to give off that incredible sense of size Hulk has.
I just love that the Avengers consider Hulk a their secret weapon of mass destruction, which he is. That's the one thing the Ultimates did a great job with. He's like an atomic bomb that they piss off and point in the right direction, and he lays waste to whoever is in his way.
I re- watched my blu ray of Ang Lee's Hulk last night, and in the scene where he's hiding behind a tree from Betty out at the cabin, he looks 20 feet tall if not more, and it just looked silly at that point. So if he kept getting madder in Ang's world, there would be no limit to his size, and he becomes a Kaiju. That's not the Hulk.
^The only thing I can remember thinking of during that scene was "My GOD! He's got man-boobs!"

That's because that crap is not in the comics. Ang Lee just invented it because he simply didn't understand the Hulk. And then on top of that, he originally wanted the Hulk to run around naked. I bet he got his hopes up again that it were so with those Avengers posters.
I wish in the comics that Marvel would officially change the first albeit seldom-used part of Banner's name to David. In the comics he's formally known as Robert Bruce Banner, even though he goes by the name of Bruce.
Most people know him either as David Banner or Bruce Banner. Barely anyone except the most dedicated fanboys know the Robert part. If they changed it to David Bruce Banner, then it would be the best of both worlds, referencing the TV show but remaining true to the comics if he still uses Bruce. He never uses the name Robert, so that's easily the most dispensable part of his name. David has become more part of the mythology than Robert. What's the point of keeping that part around?
