But....wait a second....let me see if I heard this correctly earlier. Hulk is going to be nekkid?

No, not really. Just a rumor/joke that popped up because his pants weren't visible in the first team artwork we saw.

Ang Lee said he was originally going to make naked Hulk but that it was too much like an Austin Powers joke keeping him conveniently covered up by scenery. :wow:

Maybe Banner will have a naked scene, though, he did for both movies so far. :barf:

Here's one thing from Ang Lee's Hulk that blew the doors off of TIH:

The CGI in that scene looks incredibly dated. And it hasn't even been 10 years yet.

I grew up watching a guy in green paint. That looks awesome.

Yeah, it looks like something in a video game that's supposed to look cartoony. Like a Super Hero Squad game or something.

For a first-time full Hulk CGI version, it wasn't that bad back then. But now looks different. In some scenes he looks very cartoony and reminds me to Shrek. Specially with that awful shiny green.

Ang's Hulk didn't really look like what I'd imagine for the character to look like, especially the face.

The VFX on Hulk in that film weren't the best, but those super jumps are definately something I missed whenever I watch TIH.

I am going to miss Norton. He is a brilliant actor and I loved him in American History X. But Ruffalo is also a great actor so I think he will do a good job as Banner.

norton would of been 10x better IMO.

Besides he worked with Downey in Zodiac, right? They showed good chemistry in that movie.

I stand by this to this day, certain scenes and shots, not everything, but certain parts of the Hulk cgi in Ang's film is still some of the best f/x work I've seen, especially in comparison to TIH.

Ang's Hulk was wildly inconsistent, and while he tried to explain some of that as being intentional, I never bought it. But, the integration of that Hulk with his surroundings and environment, in particular the desert sequence in the daytime, is easily better than just about anything in TIH.

TIH was more consistent with the design and look, but it never looked anything close to real, save for the first reveal of his face in the Bottling Factory and the shot of him holding Betty after the campus battle.

His skin looked like rubber, the striations and definition were way overboard, and his face for the most part just looked weird anytime he opened his mouth, most notably when he screams at the start of that campus fight, and when you consider how much Marvel used that shot for promotional ads & marketing, it's a decision I'm still confused about.

I just think a lot of you guys prefer the design of TIH as opposed to Ang's, and that's fine, but if your judging the cgi objectively, I don't see how it's even close

I'm cool with Rufalo. Norton didn't do anything so memorable for me to miss him the way some of you go on and on about.

The Hulk needs to look like this in the Avengers, and so far what we saw in the trailer is not quite this cool yet...

Exactly. And this just harkens back to what I've been feeling, that Banner as a character, has been shortchanged in both movies.

I kind of understand what Ang was going for, with the repressed feelings, but he made Eric so devoid of emotion that it was hard to feel anything for the guy, and if we as the audience aren't engaged with Banner's plight, what's the point?

Ed did somewhat better, I think he, and the script on a whole, were already hamstrung from the criticisms of the first film. And while he got to exhibit more of a well rounded personality, nobody wanted to see him delve deeper into Banner's psyche, and presumably, the extra content on the DVD led Marvel to believe people may have become restless had it been included in the movie :whatever:

Bixby, for me, is still the only one to strike the right balance between charm, intellect, charisma, angst & repressed emotions. I don't think Bana or Norton were anywhere close to hitting the right chord and I believe both movies suffered a bit from that

i don't think anyone will top bixby tbh. but imo norton was a close 2nd.

Well, yeah but Bixby had like a hundred hours of TV to give Banner the characterization he deserves.

I do think that Norton was better than Bana. His personality was more like Banner.

Not really, to me the Pilot episode was his high water mark anyway. That's what I use to compare the three

I think what is in the trailer is a good transition to this image - I just hope this is what we end up with - I do not see why Marvel would release this amazing image of the Hulk if this is not what we were going to get in the movie...

We probably won't be getting this Hulk in The Avengers, and it's a shame because I love it. Although I'm very happy with what we've seen of Hulk so far, I would be ecstatic if he looked like the one in the painting.
