In Hulk vs and A:EMH, it's more like
"Hulk brawn, I'm the tech master, Cap the strategist and Thor the tool to show how strong the Hulk is" hehehehe...
Or not so hehehe actually, I'm a Thor fan.
Just once I'd like Thor to dismissively teleport or hurricane wind-blast Hulk right out a battle, saying, "I have far more pressing concerns today than playing with you, Hulk...".
The Hulk is functionally immortal but he's still mortal. He can be killed but its all most impossible to get him to that point by natural means. The only way to kill the Hulk is to destroy every last cell in his body.
DBZ reference! He's kind of like Perfect Cell.
I think it comes down to how you define immortal, as you say Hulk is still mortal because he can be killed but then Thor, who is considered immortal can also be killed. If it comes down to dying from old age then it still remains to be scene if Hulk suffers from this, personally I think Maestro looking older was a conscious effort from Hulk to look different and Hulk the end looked older because Banner looked older.
Once again, while I generally detested the depiction of the Hulk himself, some of the transformations on the TV show were genuinely creepy. In particular the very first one, with Bixby snarling in just contacts, the fake nose & forehead, still trying to wrestle with that tire. Or the Married episode where he springs out of the chair under hypnosis. I feel the big screen Hulk needs more of a terrifying presence, and it starts with Banner's transformation creeping you out.
I first heard it when the show came out waaay back. It wasn't a rumour at the time but an official answer that was given to the question of the name change (they didn't say Bruce sounded 'gay', they just said it wasn't masculine enough)
They did a Piss poor job of doing that. I like when Thor is present as this All Might God and the Hulk through Brute strength and WILL can stand up to him and as time passes he can surpass him in strength. In Hulk vs, EMH, and Ultimate Avengers Thor is just a Punching bag for Hulk and he falls to easily. Thor need to feel more Godly and Extremely powerful that way when the Hulk over comes him in the strength department it will seem more like an awe inspiring feat.
That's why I like the 90's portrayal of Thor in animation so much.
I'm 41, and I remember reading that same article when the show was on. Definitely not a rumor or an urban legend.

I remember 'Mad' magazine even made fun of it when they parodied the show (they had a guy named 'Bruce' winning Olympic events on a tv screen in one bit iirc...Been about 30 years since I read it).

I gotta read that.In a couple of future set stories he has been shown to age, albeit slowly: In Future Imperfect he became the white haired & bearded Maestro (apparently with no Banner), and in 'Hulk: The End" he again had white receding hair, and Banner was a grizzled old man. I think the former was meant to be about hundred years in the future (Rick Jones was still alive) and the latter about a couple of hundred years or so down the line.
Going by those examples it could be argued he would eventually age enough to expire (would take a very long time though). However, from 'The End' story it could be said he'd keep on going no matter how much he aged. pretty tragic idea given that when he'd finally achieved what he'd always been after (finally left completely alone without even Banner to turn back into) he realised at the last that was not such a good thing after all.

Some things you can't do, no matter what your strength is. Thor has the most power on the team. Hulk has the most strength. Thor commands the elements, and no matter how strong Hulk is, he can't do that. It would be like asking Iron Man to plan a team mission, or Steve to hack into a computer.
I can't say I really agree here. You kind of paint each character into a corner by stereotyping them into stock characters. I think they are all a bit more well-rounded, for instance Thor is not dumb, etc. Also, we see this because they all can carry solo stories. And wasn't Tony the leader of the Pro-Registration Act in the Civil War? That shows that he is capable of being a leader.

I don't want Banner being in control of the Hulk. I also don't want him enjoy the fact that he turns into the Hulk. What i LOVED about the tv series, was how Banner really loathed turning into 'the creature'; even in situations where he knew changing would greatly benefit his situation, i.e when he was paralized from the waist down, or when he was serving time in a prison hot box on a chain gang.
I really hope they keep this aspect of the character alive and well.

I agree with most of what you're saying, but I always found it stupid that Banner hated changing into the Hulk so much that he didn't want to change in situations that called for.
It's get to a point where I'm like, "alright come on dude, let's be reasonable here".
The main problem with that way of displaying Banner's story is that it gets old really fast, and you never get to really feel how very good the Hulk really is! I mean, you want the audience to love the Hulk, not Banner so as much. To do that you can't always have him be the "bad guy" to Bruce's "good guy". Then, what's the point of a villain in any of his movies. I mean, the T.V. show kinda got it wrong in my view when they constantly had Banner fighting to get rid of the Hulk; yet every episode Hulk was saving good people and putting criminals and bad guys out of action.....after awhile I'm kinda wondering why he doesn't want to change into the Hulk. I mean, he would be dead like 10 times over if he didn't have Hulk saving his ass all the time...and he never even thanks him! Then nerve of "
" David" Banner! lol
I hear what you're saying, but think about it; if it wasn't for the Hulk, Banner wouldn't be in those bad situations to begin with . The reason he ran into trouble all the time, was because he had to keep traveling...because of the Hulk. The Hulk was a curse to him. He also hated the fact that he had no control over what he did as Hulk, nor did he remember any of it. That's really loosing control of yourself. Then there's instances where Hulk, during a rampage could accidently hurt/kill someone. The Banner of the tv show had a conscience. There was even an ep when he was about to commit suicide, because he thought the Hulk had killed a kid -' The Psychic'.
It was a very good Dr.Jekly and Mr.Hyde Scenerio. I think that's what Stan Lee based Hulk off of. Having Banner turn into Hulk at will, loving it and being in control the whole time, makes Hulk just another run-of-the-mill hero, who changes into his alter-ego in a phone booth, and saves the day.:
Banner's mentality was that yes Hulk could save the day but then what if Hulk goes crazy, would the situation be worse than its current state.
