Just make him an ***hole that loves smashing. No need to become a boyscout by becoming a hero. And keep Banner they way he was in the Movie. No moping around anymore.
I hope they change his voice though because when he says puny god it sounded like Arnold Schwarzenegger to me his voice should be more fierce hell my voice is much deeper than this hulks voice
Honestly I don't know why everyone is suprised about Hulk getting a sequel, I knew this was going to happen after the critics raved about Hulk/Ruffalo's performance.
I think if they just study and read the comic book source materials, they could develop a lovable character from that that is ALL true to Hulk...much like Del Toro stated that he was doing for the television show.
That and good and bad characterizations...just look at the Batman franchise for reference. Same character...some movies big hits...and some really bad misses.
If they do go ahead with the solo Hulk movie, would Joss Whedon be at the helm or is he reserved for Avengers 2? Because Ruffalo seems very keen as long as Whedon is involved.
Anyway this news is great to hear; Marvel does seem eager to squeeze in at least one movie while Ruffalo is still in his 40s.

I don't think Whedon would be interested in doing Hulk as well. That would be too much workload for roughly the same thing. He was exhausted after The Avengers and probably wants to do other things before jumping on the sequel.
I'm sure there are plenty of people that could do Hulk justice.

I guess one thing going for it is that 2015 is still pretty far away. Hopefully it's enough time for Whedon to recharge and do other projects before convincing him to return. I think one of the reasons why Avengers-Banner/Hulk worked so well is because Whedon (and Marvel) set out creating this version with Ruffalo in mind and from the interviews, it seems like Whedon and Ruffalo were talking about how to build this character as a continuation of TIH but also evolving it even before Whedon started writing the script.
I agree there's definitely other people who would do a great job for Hulk. It's just that having found a winning formula, I was interested to see what Whedon's vision for Hulk's development would be like.
Del Toro has been working on the Incredible Hulk Television show, so he has a good idea and descent knowledge of the Hulk in general, outside the two films and the older TV show. He's genuinely enthusiastic about it. He loves monsters and Hulk/Banner is one indeed.
He'd probably do an amazing Doctor Strange, however.

I have no doubt he'd do a good Hulk film, I've liked everything I've seen Del Toro do, but I think he'd be much more suited in the fantasy realm of Dr. Strange.
Hulk worked well in this because he has other superpowered people to play off of, and he wasn't the main character. I still don't think a solo hulk film would be as popular as people here do, and this is coming from someone who enjoyed TIH

Well, I would think Hulks popularity will be higher after the movie, but I do tend to agree, in certain ways it is better if he has some 'help' on a powered, but intellectual front.
It would be interesting if they paired Banner and Cap for a good part of both their movies.
Play in on Banners obsesion with the SSS, thinking Rogers blood may well be the key to his salvation.
Not saying it has to be all about a Cap and Hulk show, but it couldn't hurt for both to have just a bit more then "cameo's in thier films
I mean lets face it, If you bring in a brain like the leaders......... well then you could have a villain promising heroes answers to questions they seek in a plot to do them great harm.
Or the Leader combining Caps Blood and Banners Blood to create something ...
Co-sign on the Del Toro/Dr.Strange thing - always seemed like a really good fit for Del Toro, certainly moreso than Hulk [or at least, the Hulk that we get in the Avengers movie - it's always possible that the Hulk tv show was going to adopt a totally different tone/approach to the one used by Joss and that while it may have favoured Del Toro's style, the new approach doesnt seem to lend itself to his unique sensibilities].
A dark, macabre, creepy, off-centre and ever so slightly eccentric and quirky Dr. Strange seems right up Del Toro's alley.

It's far away from the first Avengers film but not the second.
As for Hulk (putting it in tags just in case)
I think what Whedon did was just the natural progression from what we saw in TIH. I know there were plans to have him as the villain but that doesn't fit well with the final scene with Banner, where he starts to transform but still smiles. That scene definitely tells us that he's starting to control it.
I'm really interested in where they will take Hulk from here as well. The more of a hero he becomes, the less interesting Banner might become, and imo Banner is the most interesting part of that character. I expect them to make something good out of it though.

I agree. I like Hulk saving people but not because he has a heroic vocation. As you say, if Hulk becomes a heroic figure Banner lose his conflict and aversion towards "the other." Plus, makes Hulk less interesting as he's traditionally used to puny humans to fear him and boo him on a daily basis. He hates them as they hate him. But he can't help smashing the enemy, that's for sure.
In future Hulk appearances, I hope we get the return of the green eyes to signal the transformation from Banner to Hulk.
When Banner was [BLACKOUT]walking towards the Levithan and turned around to Cap to say that he's always angry,[/BLACKOUT] it would have been the perfect moment for Banner to have the green eyes.

I disagree for the most part...We have gotten 2 movies now that dealt with Banner more than Hulk, and honestly I really am tired of Banner's self loathing; and I think the BO numbers prove the GA doesn't want to keep seeing that as well. Unleash the Hulk, in all his glory and give Bruce Banner (Ruffalo please) something to do as a scientist to solve a problem and I think the movie will be awesome! I dare say it worked in Avengers brilliantly!
