Most of the CGI was excellent, the rest of it was mind blowing. There's a specific moment
in the Thor/Hulk fight, just after he's been knocked into the plane, I think... it's a close-up shot just after he get's back up, I think
and just... wow! Perfect, completely real.

Oh hai,

I come to this board with a question I am sure you have already discussed:

So, the movie was indeed awesome, and all, but...
Is there any other explanation than "writer said so" as to why the Hulk first goes on a rampage at the SHIELD carrier, but later can be controlled so far that he allies with the other Avengers.

Probably, I missed it, but is there any explanation given why he first acted one way, and then another?

Thanks,

B

Im also happy to see that hulk has his super jumps back

I second this. I was so disappointed in the strength level of TIH. He was weak...using weapons, shields. How many times did he actually throw a punch...twice? lmao. Can you imagine TA Hulk using a shield like in the fight on campus? haha

Here's a question. Which Hulk is the strongest on screen (no spoilers, haha):

'03 Hulk vs TIH vs TA Hulk (TIH is obviously weakest)

I thought it was very clear. Hulk used all his strength to try to lift it but the hammer didn't budge and the floor started to give. Had he continued the floor would have continued to give. Lifting Mjolnir should never be a feat of strength. Hulks strength isn't more powerful than Odin's might and it doesn't need to be in order for Hulk to be awesome.

I wouldn't say all his strength. Thor throws the hammer at him, Hulk catches it, tries to lift it while standing up and then really begins going for it. You see the muscles in his neck flex and then Thor attacks him. You could say Hulk was on the point of lifting it, it looked that way to me.

The first time he transformed Banner was being manipulated by Loki, thus not really having control over the transformation itself, I guess that's why Hulk went on a rampage. The second time Banner does is it with his own free will and seems to be having more influence over Hulk's actions; like attacking chitauri and catching Iron Man.

He wasnt about to lift it, they even showed the steel floor under his feet breaking and crumbeling

I'd liked to have seen a Hulk thunderclap / foot stomp...but those are just wish-list items. I totally dig how they portrayed him...just needed a few more lines ;)

The Hulk/Banner was so brilliantly done in this movie! Can't wait to watch it again this week!

I actually belive 03´ Hulk and Avengers Hulk is pretty equal both would most definitly mop the floor with 08´Abomination without breaking a sweat.

Look, I'm trying to be very objective here. Thor was evenly matched with Loki. Hulk smashed Loki as if he was nothing. Also, no Thor didn't take down two leviathans with lightining. There were only three of them: hulk took down the first and the second (this one with the help of thor) and ironman took down the third.

Actually you're quite wrong there, watched the movie again:
Hulk takes down the first, two more come out of the portal (that we can see) while they're assembled on the ground then Cap starts giving orders to everyone and tells Thor to "bottleneck" the portal using his lightning, which obliterates at least one leviathon (as well as a few dozen of those alien cruisers), but it looks like it's probably two. Then Hulk and Thor take one down and Iron Man takes down the one. And there's also one left after the "mothership" is destroyed by the nuke which just collapses onto a building. So there are definitely more than 3.
I'm not exactly disagreeing with you, I'm just pointing out that Thor is powerful in other ways, which is how it should be. I'm a Hulk fan through and through, and enjoy nothing more than seeing him beat the living daylights out of Thor, but the facts are there.

It's hinted at that Loki is manipulating him, well Black Widow even states it out loud. An old reference to the original comic book, I love it.

I think TA Hulk could take 03 Hulk, he just has some awesome feats, he seems faster and is definitely more brutal

Here's what it comes down to, Hulk has never lifted Mjolnir in the comics so he shouldn't on film.

I'm not saying this to detract anything from the character, but maybe Hulk stole the show because that was their intention.

Think about it...

The big green monster rears its head again...
(Just kidding BT! :cwink: )

WRONG WRONG WRONG.

Not only has The Hulk done it more than once, but the RED HULK (weaker) has done it.

I do agree that it shouldnt be done right now though.

I've said it before, but many writers have stated the same:
The Hulk stole the show because, when done right, he's the type of character that has these awesome moments. It's that simple.

Btw, the Hulk/Banner is the new fangirl obsession on tumblr!:D

Sorry, but you're wrong. Hulk has never lifted Mjolnir in the comics. And that's all that matters. Red Hulk only 'lifted' in low gravity.

And btw, the "low gravity" bs has nothing to do with the magic/worthy argument that's been made earlier.

Also, Weightless is not the same as massless. Rulk couldn’t pick up the moon and hit someone with it even if he was in space. We are talking about Loeb though. I mean it's not like he's as good a writer as Jeff Parker ;)

Great news. I keep telling people I'm buying Depends™ before watching this movie because I'm seriously gawn-shat-muh-paunts. :dew:

Ok here's a few image grabs for you...and I still haven't hit my longboxes.

By your posts, I already know you haven't read many comics... i won't even comment on your example about the moon...
Btw, the pics you posted:
The first is from an alternate universe. No real hulk or thor there.
The second is a dream sequence. It didn't happen.

Let the Battle Begin could or could not be a dream sequence. It's never stated.

And as for the insults about not reading many comics...I've got 28 longboxes that prove you wrong. But I'm not going to get into some silly internet flame war with you.

The pic you posted is not let the battle begin. And it doesn't matter, as Hulk didn't lift it (thor was the one holding it).
Good to see you didn't adress any of my comments.:word:

Why would I actually respond to someone that insulted me like you did? I could care less what you post at this point. You're an insulting buffoon.
