Sandman subway fight > Ock's bank fight.
Osborn penthouse fight > Warehouse fight against Ock.

I would have to disagree, especially on the first one as I loved the bank fight. SM3's fight scenes are nothing to sniff at though, and they are still better than many CBM action scenes we get now.

He's too old for a specific type of Spider-Man the teen version but I think he could have played the role of an adult Spider-Man still.

He's actually barely aged and I think he actually looks better now than he did in Spider-Man 3

There was a very tiny part of me that thought he might be brought back for Civil War. Imagine a scene of Spider-Man unmasking and it's revealed to be Toby?

It'd be almost like the final scene of TFA for those who've seen it and understand.
Dude, that would have been so sick!

Can we please get a Spider-Man 4? :woot: I'd kill to see a SM4,

Snap. The Ock fights are on a higher level of their own.

I think that ship has well and truly sailed. Though it was interesting to see in the leaked emails that they were talking about bringing Raimi back to the franchise.

Yep. Fantastic action scenes indeed, with SM2 on top.

You know, people give credit to Blade and the X-men for reviving the genre and while that is true I'd argue that Raimi's Spider-man films (specifically the first one) singlehandedly set us on the path we are now with superhero movies, particular for the MCU. There's so much palpable love and respect for the source material. Even if you don't like some of the choices made (and I certainly wouldn't say these films are perfect) there's no denying how much Raimi loves the character.

I loved all the Raimi movie battles, but I can't help it about enjoying those two battles in SM3 more than the ones I mentioned from SM2.

We all have our opinions my friend :yay:. For me though both fights in SM2 are the best in the franchise and still beat plenty of CBM fights today.

Totally agreed. I still can't believe How Sony dropped the ball after those two wonders.

If you don't have a film maker with a clearly defined vision then the movie is most likely going to crash and burn under the weight of it's own emptiness.
That isn't a knock on Marc Webb necessarily because I do think he's at least a competent film maker (500 days of summer is a great movie, he will always get respect from me for that), it's just that Sony hired him knowing they'd be elbow deep up his rectum. You'd think after driving away Raimi after that third film they'd have learned.

I think Blade and X-Men deserve the credit they get personally. But I agree Raimi's movies where the ones to take CBMs into true blockbuster territory. And the first 2 are still 2 of the best CBMs ever made.

Agreed
They definitely deserve credit for proving that the genre was still viable, but I really think we owe the Raimi films for where we are today, particularly in regards to the MCU. Blade and X-men both hid from their source material and dressed themselves up like any other leather-clad generic 90's action movie; Spider-man embraced it with open arms.

For anyone interested. Those movies still hold up!

Most definitely. And still the standard of Spidey movies so far, especially 2. Kevin Fiege also said the same thing when discussing the Spidey reboot in the MCU;

"I think Spider-Man 2 is one of the best superhero movies ever, so that’s a lot to live up to.”

It makes me optimistic for Spidey's next solo movie in the fact that he's keeping that in mind.

Spider-Man 2 was just an incredible achievement at the time. What a movie. I think Feige is well aware What the next movie needs to be.

My favorite fight scene in Spider-Man 3 is Peter and Harry's fight in the mansion.
I agree the mansion fight between Peter and Harry is great.
Plus I love Peter's "Look at little Goblin Junior. Gonna cry?" line.

I remember Raimi saying that particular fight scene was tricky and risky to shoot b/c both costumes were flammable.

If I could decide we would be getting Spider-Man 6 in 2017.

I think Raimi would have just ended it at 4 if he had his way.

I still wish Spider-Man 4 had happened. I would rather have gotten 1 more Raimi film before integrating Peter Parker into the MCU than the 2 reboot films we got.

Definitely, though if 4 would have been successful and critically praised like the first, I think Raimi may have done 1 or even 2 more.
