Anyone else love some of the little Peter/Mary Jane moments in Spider-Man 3, such as in the beginning when MJ is concerned that her voice was too quiet, so Peter explains the acoustics to her, and she affectionately calls him a nerd? And let's not forget when she was reaching out to Peter prior to him going after Sandman to prevent him from getting carried away with his anger.

^^ I loved those moments as well.

To me, I felt that the story had a great starting point with Peter and Mary Jane finally being together, and I liked the idea that Peter wants to propose to Mary Jane, Aunt May's engagement ring, and so forth. It's a shame that it smashes into a brick wall when Harry gets amnesia and all of the sudden, they start regressing back to the first movie, and in the most contrived ways possible.

The scene between Aunt May and Peter when they are talking about marriage is pretty damn emotional, IMO. One of my favorite scenes in S-M3.

I liked that scene as well. The Peter-Mary Jane relationship worked in the film best when it was either progressing or they were having organic problems. It's one of the reasons I really disliked the contrived and dumb way that Harry forces MJ to break up with Peter. I think one of Spider-Man 3's biggest structural flaws is that bludgeons the audience with memories of Spider-Man with regards to Harry Osborn. Instead of moving forward from where the characters are now and continuing their progression, the film retrogresses back to the beginning, I guess because it doesn't give the audience enough credit to remember these aspects.

Agreed. I'm a bit suprised though. I always kinda figured everybody here only cared about the action scenes. Guess I was wrong.

I like the films because of the stories they told. Story is more important to me than action.

^^ There are a lot of people who still like S-M3.

Indeed. I like Spider-Man 3, but it's hard to look past its faults that its predecessors didn't have. It's sort of a mixed bag, in my opinion.

I was referring to all three films.

I still love all three.

Spider-Man was on TNT a couple of days ago, but I decided I didn't want to watch commercials so put in the DVD and had a blast watching it. It never gets old! :D

I found it kinda funny that every villain except Sandman tried to impale Spidey at least once.

Anybody seen this? I lol'd pretty hard. :funny:

And in the exact opposite, Spider-Man impaled Sandman :awesome:

I still remember when they used that one-armed boxer for this scene. Perhaps they wanted a pro to make an awesome-looking punch?

As I have mentioned many times, the conversations between all of the characters felt over-the-top. I mean, did May HAVE to mention Ben? Lol. It makes me think of that How It Should Have Ended video.

I much prefer the conversations between May and Peter in Spider-Man 2. They felt much, much more emotional and impacting. Especially the scene with May moving.

Damn, you're right. Green Goblin tried at least twice (once with the Goblin Glider blades as well as once with the trident of doom), Doc Ock tried to impale him twice with the tentacle spike/probe, Harry Osborn/New "Goblin" stabbed Peter with a dagger, and Venom tried to impale him on the Sky Stick's blades.

That kind of thing isn't that uncommon. Remember the D-Day Invasion Beach scene from Saving Private Ryan? Remember the casualties with limbs blown off in the background? Those were real amputees.
They called on Baxter Humby to facilitate achieving the effect of the punch penetrating through Sandman, with a hand on the other side of Thomas Hayden Church's body added in with CGI.

Harry also tried to impale him with the sword, and as for the dagger-that was actually the second attempt. Norman aldo tried to get him with the glider blades on the bridge. Venom tried to run him through with the jagged metal bar right before Harry swooped in. So I guess they all tried at least twice.

But those who didn't seem to be more vocal, & it's now treated like it was a bigger flop than Last Action Hero.

That's mostly because of how badly it disappointed compared to all the hype. Jesus, you would have thought the Rapture was coming with how hyped up it was.

I actually mentioned Norman trying to impale him on the Goblin Glider's blades (which don't make a whole lot of sense for a combat vehicle, since it more than likely entail kamikaze tactics with an unprotected pilot in combat use).
